Curious to experience a little of the life in another country. I have a passion for languages because they open doors to other experiences during travelling. I studied Communication and my specialty is partly intercultural communication. In my free time I love to dance salsa, eat/cook with friends,take pictures, hiking/walking/being in nature, indoor climbing, watch a movie or do other fun things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Organise CS events when possible, such as Sinterklaas diner and dice event or CS Cooking Club Augsburg Area. Have a great time with other couch surfers.

Interests

learning about another culture by listening to stories, living and spending time with locals and seeing a lot of a country. I love to try food and drink specialties of the country where I'm travelling in at that moment. Weird names, strange colors and a funny texture, I have some stories I can tell you about food. ;-)

Music, Movies, and Books

music: world music,salsa, soul, pop, classical, lounge (I like a lot of different styles of music)
books: the zahir (Coelho), good wifes of China, De Engelenmaker, discovery of heaven (Mulish), Suezkade, Bal masque, the kite flyer of Kabul, the life of pi and lots more.
movies: especially art house movies (Yo tambien, Kandahar, Meres et filles, into the wild, happy go lucky), but also movies like Dear John, Inception, King's speech and Avatar.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling together with my close friend from Borneo and spend time with her family and friends.
Working with single moms and their children in Guatemala. It was so hard to say goodbye after such a long time. Why do you have to leave, don't you like us?, the children asked me on one of my last days. Heart breaking!
Some of the most beautiful nature experiences: Indonesia (Sumatra) jungle trip of 3 days. Sleeping under a plastic bag, waking up at 5 in the morning by the sounds of the animals and the sun. Borneo climbing Pinnacles and trekking in other parts.Climbing Pacaya and sleeping in a tent near the summit of the vulcano.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some basic knowledge about the languages I speak. I share the vision of learning by doing/ communicating in a foreign language. Further I can teach you how to make necklaces/bracelets. Dutch meals or other meals I can teach you as well. I love to cook.
For myself I would love to learn how to cook other(traditional)plates, learn a different language or practice my spanish, german or english. Thai chi sounds great to learn and I'm interested in trying yoga and special dances.
