About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Le vent nous portera

ABOUT ME
-- I currently live in Budapest where I can't host people. However, I would like to explore this city together!

Aged 29 I can enjoy my life as a work in progress. I fulltime work in a secondary school for youngsters with an ASD diagnosis, but I can't complain about the amount of leisure time. I'm a multi-tasker and an early morning person, as I don't need a lot of sleep. I try to combine jogging with useful tasks like popping in at the best bakery of Ghent for a freshly baked bread or chatting with a friend who's meanwhile cycling to work. Some evenings I'm all indefatigable rock 'n roll, others I can terribly fall asleep where I sit.
Next to my job as a teacher, I follow an education as a massage therapist. Trying to not only help the inner person as a teacher but also from the outside. A combination that definitely works for me.
I like inspiring people who live in depth. Who have a critical view and a mind of their own, a respectful attitude and are eager to meet new places and people. There are not many things or people I explicitly dislike, but we won't get along if you're superficial or impassive. But if you're like that, I don't know how you ended up couchsurfing.
I love my family, friends and pets, the English bookshop 'round the corner, rock climbing, hiking, female comedians (both on tele and in my circle of friends), coffee, music and concerts, my grumpy cat Tilos, baking cake, youthmovements, finishing that half liter ice-cream in one turn, long evenings and nights talking, humming to babies in a rocking chair, an extended breakfast, folkstales, wild flowers, early morning walks and so many things I might learn from traveling more and having travellers around.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm happy to show you a part of my city and my life. I like couchsurfing as a way of travelling the purest way and I prefer people who have thesame mentality. Up till now I've mostly had very good and even fantastic encounters with couchsurfers, and I would like to keep it that way. If you search for a free hotel room, we'll all end up not having a nice time.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted Belgian, Canadian, Australian, British and American people, found good company at the Sziget festival, sometimes I participate in language tables organised by couchsurfing.

All sorts, but mainly britpop, rock & postrock music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've asked an autograph to my mom's favourite but painfully underskilled soapserie actress. The uncoolest thing I've ever done in public, but my mom was very pleased with it.

But the coolest thing I guess was marrying this guy whom I met through couch surf!
