About Me

CURRENT

Believe that US is a rapidly declining empire and think it prudent to search for refuge in other, hopefully rising, nations where I can meet the people necessary to do businesses that benefit all parties.

ABOUT ME

Complete failure as employee and employer but very accurate forecaster and previously good buyer of real estate (preferably seller pays me to buy his property). Very easily form personal (not so much financial) partnerships. Have difficulty focusing on one task because there are so many opportunities, but am pretty good about coming up with creative solutions which combine most factors.

PHILOSOPHY

One's life is a process, not an end, which is fueled by honesty, spontaneity, and vulnerability. It is, therefore, largely uncontrollable and totally unpredictable. The future of the United States is, however, very predictable: The dollar will collapse and make the 2008 credit crisis look like a picnic. Other than hyper-inflation, I really don't know if this will involve things like violent revolt, famine, etc. I live my life to leave the world slightly better and those with whom I interact more prepared to realize their goals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Talking, discussing, arguing, writing, dreaming and sharing, being frank, showing people around (Las Vegas strip, Hoover Dam, mountains, Death Valley, Zion Park, Grand Canyon, Macau tourist and secluded areas, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Chinese saunas, Beijing, Manila, Malate, Ft. Bonifacio Global City, bathhouses, and other places), massaging, meeting people everywhere, participating in public affairs in Las Vegas......

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Zero except for attendance at one meeting in Beijing.

Interests

Imagining, traveling, reading, discussing (often arguing) writing letters and comments regarding public affairs and politics, dreaming of new projects, helping others solve personal and business issues and encouraging them to take risks to realize their dreams, suggesting Americans leave Amerika...Would love to form personal partnerships that evolve into business partnerships.

Music, Movies, and Books

One book stands above all other: "The Third Wave" by Alvin Toeffler wherein he predicted in 1979 nearly everything that is happening today. I like listening to talk radio and non-discordant, non Hip Hop, non Jazz, non Western, non hillbilly, non Nortena music. I really like dancing and listening to electronic dance music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bought 4 apartment buildings (200 total units) for $50 each building (1978); drove from Chile to Colombia and Panama (by cargo ship) to Las Vegas (1968), met Ifugao natives in northern Philippines, whose third language (of 4 total) is English and who have been successful in following the plan created 2000 years ago for building the rice terraces (which are extensive enough to circle the world) and continuing their intended use until today in spite of a thousand typhoons and a life of head hunting (until the 1950s)--the first wonder of the world in my book (but I've only visited the Great Wall). Actually, the last thing hardly counts, because I didn't do it, but I'll leave it anyway.

Teach, Learn, Share

Most learning is experiential, so Couch Surfing University should one of the best formats. Maybe I should get more involved. One of my dreams is to create a charter school to take Las Vegas teens to study in China and return to revolutionize the tourist industry here, while at the same time facilitating the immersion of Chinese students into American "culture" and life.
