ABOUT ME

I am an open minded humble person who prefers experience before comfort.

When I was a student I hitchhiked through Europe in the vacancies from Lisbon to the Black Sea, from the North Cape to Sicily. The idea to hitchhike, in the very beginning born out of low budget reasons, became a philosophy on the very first trip (Denmark and Sweden). I loved the way to travel and meet people.I was very often invited to people's homes (and if not I slept in the 6000-stars-hotel, which means under the sky) So in a way it was couch sharing before getting to know this site.

When I started working I finished this great way of travelling for simple time reasons. Annual holiday is limited and for hitchhiking one needs time. The time was now missing. So I travelled the classic way. Hiring rental cars, staying in hotels, motels. hostels and so on. A fast and easy way to travel, but missing the human contact in the same depth as I had it while hitchhiking.

Now I discovered this web site. I think Couch Sharing ist great way to combine both worlds, the one of the hitchhiker and the one of the classic traveller.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can offer a couch in a nice small town very near to Potsdam and Berlin, with excellent good, fast and cheap public transport to the center of Berlin (30 - 45 min Zoologischer Garten - Alexanderplatz) or Potsdam (7-10 min), while I am not travelling myself.

Interests

I try to travel as much as possible in my freetime to see the world. Thus my favorite topic is travelling and the things I experienced. I like a wide variety of activity like diving, table-tennis, hiking, bicycling. I am also interested in culture and history of the places I visit.
