About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Help inspire and nurture a global revolution of interdependence and cooperation
ABOUT ME
Live down in (multicultural and kinda poor) south Leeds, love it, hang out especially with lots of refugees, help run some community projects (festivals and youth programmes etc), practise 'alternative economics' like freeganism and coops, grow vegetables (badly) and keep chickens, seeking anarchic theologies for following God/YHWH (not into preaching etc), enjoy eating and drinking with different people, and much more...
PHILOSOPHY
We're pretty big on alternative economies, eg cooperative lifestyles and freeganism (of which CS is a very good example): they change the world. We're trying to follow Jesus without the organised religion clutter that makes it all messy. We're committed to participating in social change, but understand that you have to be part of the change - as opposed to imposing change on others! And there's so much more...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Already done a lot of (free) hosting of homeless refugees in our home - now simply extending that to others. And we love couch-surfing when we travel around each year: great opportunity to meet different people, learn stuff, get a bigger picture on the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have loved and been transformed by having 40+ homeless refugees stay with us over the past few years. And love meeting new random people when travelling - it massively enriches your experience of a place.
Interests
(See above.) Oh, and I forgot to add film, which I love. Children of Men, the Lego Movie, and Finding Nemo are amongst my favourite.
