About Me
Hi, my name is Edra and I'm traveling with my husbund Gabriel. We used to host CS in our apartment in Mexico and also in our hometown in Brazil.
This year marks 10 years together and, to celebrate, we decided to take a long term trip around the world. After started our journey in France (hitchhiking and doing volunteers), we traveled by land from Budapest to Istambul, crossing almost all the Balkans by hitchhiking. And now, after nearly three months traveling across the Caucasus, where we hiked the Mestia to Ushguli trail, worked on a flower farm along the Black Sea coast, and hitchhiked our way through Armenia, we're heading to Greece to meet up with a couple we met through CouchSurfing in France!! Following our time in Greece, we’re incredibly excited to be in Cyprus—an island that sparked our travel dreams since ever!—before heading to some countries in the Middle East.
We love meeting and talking to people from different cultures and want, whenever possible, to escape big cities. CS is the best way to have local experiences, understand the real culture and life in the places while we are traveling.
Over the past 3 years, before start the trip, we had the chance to reside in Mexico, where we absorbed valuable experiences and gained a deep appreciation for rural living and connection with nature. I love hiking and prefer peaceful, natural places, but I also can appreciate the concentration of culture that big cities offer. I'm learning about sailing and hope I can be sailing around the world in the next future! Always looking for great conversation, new topics and discoveries... everyone has something to offer and share !
