I'm Eddie - I'm a PhD student studying Bioinformatics. I'm from Leeds but I live in Edinburgh, with my partner and 3 cats. I love reading, attending museums, meeting new people, and spending time with old friends. I'm also a football fan following Leeds United and Hibernian.

Music, Movies, and Books

These change all the time! Recently the musicians I've seen perform live that have had a great effect on me have been Kraftwerk, Nick Cave, Michael Kiwanuka, Ezra Furman, Kae Tempest, and Metronomy. I have upcoming tickets for Kendrick Lamar and Lil Nas X. I'm also into heavy metal music as well as jazz and classical - I have broad tastes!
I read a lot and my favourite books change monthly. Recently I have loved reading the philosophy of Michel Onfray, autofiction by Annie Ernaux and Karl Ove Knaussgård, political theory by David Graeber, the work of Marlon James, Hilary Mantel and so many others.
I love going to the cinema,: some of my favourites I've seen recently are 'Another Round', 'Wings of Desire', and 'Fire of Love'.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love long conversations and hearing about the experiences of others. I'm a good cook, and generous in sharing when I do! I'm handy with housework and DIY if there's any little jobs that need doing.
