Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION
To bring democracy back into my life, in both professional and home fronts. To help the downtrodden when possible. Easy ways to recycle and reduce your carbon footprint in every way possible (and not so easy). We have to step up our game. Low carbon footprint and seeking to improve on it always. To remain calm and continue striving for balance and correctness while in the middle of many wars.
ABOUT ME
A world traveler looking for his heart and home....NYC is home for now, but who knows where life will take me?
Divorced, with step kids (grandkids too), now living a more balanced life, dating again- and sometimes failing miserably, but never losing the love. It takes losing everything dear to you to make you realize how unimportant material things are. My home country is being ravaged by its own, So I hope the world will continue supporting us in our quest for freedom and democracy. And food and medicine.

PHILOSOPHY

"Haz bien, no mires a quien"
We can all do something every single day to make our world a better place. Sometimes finding a quiet moment to meditate opens our eyes and hearts up to many possibilities...doing good to others not in your circle is more rewarding to me than to do good only to those we know. If someone asks you for food, feed them...if you can of course- if someone asks you for money, well, that's another story altogether. I generally don't give anyone money... you have to earn that. That's why I like to host. And now I will try being hosted in the next few months. I'm all about sustainability, energy conservation, recycling. I've traveled all over the world and love new cultures, foods, experiences, and most of all, exeriencing humanity. Meeting, loving, and having chemistry with other people and enjoying a good time getting about wherever you may find yourself, that's what I live for. If I'm hosting, I hope to communicate to my guest that the possibilities in this great city are always endless.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed for years (both hosting and being hosted), and have made wonderful friends and even met family this way. It's a great way to discover the world too. Joined the site to host looking forward to hosting and being hosted someday- it seems the locations I look for hosts in never have any....but things have improved and now the internet is reaching further than ever. Lucky for us couchsurfers!

Musica, film e libri

Love all kinds of Music, from reggae to rap to classical to rock...recently visited a friend in Florida, and he is warming me up to country music too!
New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Daily News, AM/Metro, El Pais, Le Monde....wish I had time to read books!

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

Just One? South Africa, San Francisco, Hawaii, Costa Rica, Thailand, France, England, Italy, Spain, Canada, Mexico, Greece, Australia, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua. Definitely Venezuela of course, I'm from there....a most beautiful country everyone should visit at least once in their lives. Then of course there's New York City! I love it here so much because it embodies the feeling of diversity and openness that I encourage from everyone. Definitely worth the trip...and your appreciation, even if it's not for you. One amazing thing only would be torture, because there's many more amazing events and experiences to come I hope!

Insegna, impara, condividi

Striving for democracy and self awareness in our lives. Recycling, low energy consumption, environmental awareness, expressing humanity, helping, learning, reducing consumption of everything we use and consume in our lives- right down to the toothpaste. Showing the world that human rights are for all, not just for a chosen few (like is so often the case), and that those rights are inalienable, and cut across all boundaries. I have no tolerance for intolerance....go figure!

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

Having lived in NYC almost 30 years, I can offer good advice on almost any subject. If you're a good cook, I'm always up for a cook-in and a movie or show on my 65 inch UHD TV...I'm gluten and dairy free (for the most part), but am a foodie though and through. I always have a suggestion for almost anything you might want to see or do in NYC. I live in Midtown Manhattan close to all.
