Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

Not to look at other profiles to be sure, what to write here - instead write sth else, sth more creative ...success?

ABOUT ME

"Law student, junior associate at a lawfirm" as to occupation may rise some eyebrows of a snobby person. But hey, the world is for us to explore, including each other. I've always though of myself not lawyer like [but maybe it's what all becoming/actual lawyers think]. I usually tend to be very [over?] talkatitive, but when it comes to saying [writing] something about myself...let's just say I'm like an onion. Not because onions stink or make you cry, but because onions have layers and I have layers [I know, quoted Shrek, must be like an ogre myself :D].

My outer layer probably is this determined, intelligent, polite, success focused and reserved person.

The next layer is a social, outgoing, charismatic, a bit lightheaded and hopefully interesting person. [It's getting hard to write about a deeper layer, so the best option is to meet it yourself.]

"Third layer? The deep romantic/emotional one. You're way over your head, if you've experienced this one :D". OOh, how could I write something like this 4 years ago!?? Ah, let it be, let it be - is true, anyways.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Awaiting for the first one ;-)

^Haha! Had it already. :) Me and a friend visited Stockholm from 18 - 21 September and had the pleasure to stay in two different parts of Stockholm with two excellent hosts, to whom we are...ah, can't even find an adjective to, how thankful we are.

Now I can say: Awaiting the next one ;-)

So the story continues - I had a wonderful opportunity to couchsurf during my visit to Rotterdam. Wonderful! Two years from then I returned to study at the University of Rotterdam. 1,5 hours before getting on my plane I had no place to stay in Rotterdam and was getting pretty desperate not wishing my first day of independent life in Rotterdam to be spent wandering through streets in dusk looking for a hostel. But thanks to all the Rotterdammers and CS community soon after landing I could peacefully and enthusiastically look up to the skyscrapers and head down north packed with my three suitcases to meet with the first of the several host who helped me to get on my feet in this big city. Thank you all, I will long cherish your kindness and wonderful personalities.

Intereses

What I really enjoy is to experience life from different perspectives. Working in a serious profession I often tend to try to achieve goals that would consequently let me settle down in life. But during my travels I have the opportunity to just for a while partly live a life of others, experience their daily routine, personality and emotions. I also consider it a thrilling and view broadening experience to randomly engage into conversations with people everywhere. In this way I can learn from people and check whether what I'm doing now corresponds to that what my hear and not the always rational brains wishes. So, my interest would first of all be - life, people and emotions.

During work days I tend to enjoy a simple relaxation, but when I have more than six hours to relax then it's true to say that I'm interested in constantly doing something. I am able, but morally can't sit around doing nothing. I need movement, excitement, diversity. But not the kind of - put me in a catapult and see what happens diversity. I guess I encompass both a sports jock and a hypster, both of which are seasoned with some Latvian simpleness and willingness to broaden my view.

Guess my life wouldn't be imaginable without constant willingness to solve problems and the feeling you get, when you've succeeded [it's what lawyers/Superman and Batman do]. Though, if I would want to be patriotic, I should refer you to one of our local superheroes - Lācpl

Música, películas y libros

As to books my all time favorites are Hobbit of J.R.R.Tolkien and Emil and the Detectives by Erich Kästner.

Movies - love the epic history films [Barvehart, The last samurai], that aren't too Hollywood pimped out. Comedy is always welcome on my street ["I constantly update this but nothing comes to mind for summer 2013" - from the most recent]. I generally love all genres. Romance? Why not, if it's the Pretty woman with Julia Roberts.

TV series? A huge fan of Sharpe's rifles and Coupling, now also Game of Thrones and Rome.

I'm not strictly into one genre of music. I enjoy different kinds of genres - starting from opera till vocal trance and rock [not going into metal - sry, can't like them all]. Frank, Green day, Mumford and the sons, Noah and the Whale, Rudimental, Jamie and the commons know how to calm me down after a long day or get me going at the start of it.
