About Me
CURRENT MISSION
It is my belief that nature gives us abundance and with proper care we can teach future generations to help preserve the abundance of the natural world.
ABOUT ME
I'm Eddie, I just moved to Davis and live in a lively co-op called Sunwise, with 8 great mates(we are aka sun wizards) We love to garden and do communal dinners. Recently back from traveling in Costa Rica, Panama and Nicaragua where I was farming and exploring. Prior to that I had been wwoofing on a farm in Orangevale, CA. In my spare time I head up a plant identification group called the Sacramento Foragers- I organize regular meets for outdoor walks and other events to support perpetual learning. Also enjoy helping when I can with Harvest Orangevale- Volunteer work to help distribute excess fruit from the community to local food banks. I like to be outdoors exploring and hiking. Enjoy bike riding cool trails as well and have a mountain board I like to take down a hillside every once in awhile. I think it is important to meditate, to live as healthy a life as possible, to challenge yourself and to do good for those that you can. Always open to learning new things and meeting new people!
PHILOSOPHY
"Life is like a camera, just focus on what's important and capture the good times, develop from the negatives and if things don't work out, just take another shot."
"True knowledge is knowing that you know nothing"
"We are what we think. Everything we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we create the world." The Buddha
"The time will soon be here when my grandchild will long for the cry of a loon, the flash of a salmon, the whisper of spruce needles, or the screech of an eagle. But he will not make friends with any of these creatures and when his heart aches with longing he will curse me. Have I done all to keep the air fresh? Have I cared enough about the water? Have I left the eagle to soar in freedom? Have I done everything I could to earn my grandchild's fondness?"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I see couch surfing as a wonderful resource for people to travel, experience new communities, meet people and make friends. This is what I want to help facilitate and create through my involvement and the reason I open my home to other couch surfers.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books- I enjoy writing and find it to be a great release for being able to create whatever adventure my mind can create. As far as reading- I have a whole bookshelf full of my interests! A lot of plant identification and natural healing books and ways to live eco-friendly with the earth (Botany in a day, Living Wild, Tending the Wild, Back to Basics) Have the complete works of William Shakespeare and my fair share of art books plus many many more lol Where's Waldo? is a fun one I have :-)
Music- A long time ago I was in a hip hop group called Static Revolution haha A couple of people that believed they could change the world with their revolutionary ideas- just do poetry and spoken word on occasion now. I like almost all music because someone has put their heart and passion into creating it and I can appreciate that. Enjoy classical or trance- anything good to draw or write to. I like music with no words so you can create your own thoughts to it. Enjoy old school smashing pumpkins- tonight tonight, perfect. Escala, Blackmill, to many to list!
Movies- As far as movie movies,Tombstone is one of my favorite movies. I like documentaries- anything that can teach me something.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
-Boarded down a volcano in Nicaragua
-Worked on a chocolate farm in Panama
-Watched the sun rise over the Caribbean ocean and then traveled across Costa Rica to watch the sunset on the pacific ocean in the same day
-I have snuck across private property to do a night hike to the top of the highest point in California's central valley only using the light of the full moon because I wanted to see what the city lights looked like from the top of the mountain- I enjoy adventure.
-I once found a little pink baby squirrel laying under a tree and wanted to give it a fair chance at life so I bottle fed Rascal till she was grown then turned her over to the wild life rehabilitation refuge
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to cook! No formal training but I think what I make taste good lol not afraid to try and create things I haven't tried before and may throw in some wild edibles as well :-)Studying aquaponics for food production purposes and experimenting with concepts of how it may be blended with permaculture designs and land use as my career focus.
Countries I’ve Visited
Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama
