CURRENT MISSION
I am walking from my home in San Sebastian to Assisi, Italy, mostly without money. I am doing this for world peace and my own inner transformation. This has been a difficult decision but I feel a deep urge to undertake this journey and trust that all things will be provided along the way. The goal is not to arrive but walk each step in deep meditation as the pilgrims path is primeraly an inner journey. I see many troubling things in the world and I want to make a difference, I know I must start with myself and my own inner peace and "be the change I want to see in the world"

ABOUT ME

Over the last 8 years I have gradually been embracing a new life, I have allowed myself to live as more of a free spirit, spending time on the Camino de Santiago and travelling on the trans Siberian railway to Bejing.

I have spent time living in Canterbury and Bath, both extremely beautiful Cities.

I have also lived in Bonn, Germany for a short time.

I really like meeting new people from different countries and experiencing many different cultures.

In some ways you could say I'm still searching and I haven't really found my place in life, but the way I see it, life is an ongoing journey, their is always more to learn and explore. There is never really a destination.

I am about to embark on a new journey, I'm heading back to Spain, this time to live, so I will be leaving soon and looking forward to a new adventure and see what happens next.

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the centre of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shrivelled and closed from fear of further pain.

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it, or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own; if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to
be careful, be realistic, remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can
disappoint another to be true to yourself. If you can bear the accusation of betrayal
and not betray your own soul. If you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see Beauty even when it is not pretty every day. And if you can source your own life from its presence.

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand at the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, 'Yes.'

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the centre of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed quite a few times now, including Bejing, Moscow, Krakov and Berlin. I have also been involved in the Bath group, meeting up for social occasions. I am yet to be in a position to host, but I woud like to one day.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had a wonderful experiences, meeting like minded people and sharing their stories. Greeted by their warmth and great hospitallity, I can't recomend it enough.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked the camino de Santiago many times (7 months of walking altogether), cycled over 1000 miles from the bottom of England to the top of Scotland (Lands end to John O'Groats) went to Bejing and back using the trans siberian railway and without stepping on a plane!

Teach, Learn, Share

I think I can learn from everyone I meet, if I am able to be still enough, to allow a deeper connection, sometimes I'm all to aware of not doing this enough!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I hope I can always leave people feeling better than when I arrived. I want to uplift and empower others and be present with them, sharing a precious moment together. There are so many destractions like smartphones etc that people seem to rarely spend quality time together.
