About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to make the world a weirder place-normal usually means boring...

PHILOSOPHY

Learn! learn anything and everything (except morris dancing)! take what you've learnt and run with it! run fast and never stop! lead a life of meyhem and madness so that you can find the meaning of life just by stumbing on it by accident (probably while very drunk, wearing a pirate hat and trying to find somewhere that will lend you welding equipment at 2am)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with a couple of couchsurfers on cycling trips from bristol to plymouth and across switzerland and met up with random cs meetings in plymouth, london, lausanne, milan and anywhere else I can. I've met a ton of cool people and now I owe a ton of karma for all the help and good times they've given me :-)

Interests

computers and electronics, circus arts (firey things, juggling etc.), personal development, taoism, pointless but fun sports (cycling, jujitsu, tai chi, climbing, hiking), swing dancing, toastmasters, building random things, foooooood!

Music, Movies, and Books

Musically speaking I'm very much into my metal, partly because the metal community is so oddly friendly and welcoming but I'm into a lot of quiet relaxed stuff as well. Pretty much anything other than rap or britney spears works for me ;-)

Books would take too long to list, every time I go to the library to get out a book, I come out with 4 books, none of which were the one I went in for

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

lying on 6 foot deep snow at the top of a scottish mountain sunbathing in the 20 degree sun.
Jujitsu national conferences are always wierd (only place in the world where the polite way to introduce yourself someone is to try and break their nose).
going to barcamp london and riding a segway around google headquarters at 2am with the star wars theme song being hummed in the background.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to learn and I love to teach!

I can teach people how to juggle (fire optional...), I know quite a bit about food and am always interested in more and I can explain tons about computers and electronics too.

Also, being a techie person, theres a good chance I'm happy to help with any computery things that aren't working right or you'd like to understand more about.

I've been getting pretty hooked on swing dancing, so if you want me to show you some cool moves, or if you know other dances you can show me, then just put on some tunes and lets dance!

Also, I'm trying to learn to swear in as many foreign languages as possible, so I'd love it if you could teach me how to be impolite in your native tongue ;-)
