Overview
About Me
Hi! I am Edwige, freelance filmmaker/ photographer, but NOTE that I am actually traveling and NOT IN FRANCE so I can’t host anybody right now. Otherwise, your are most welcome. Also please READ my profile I receive so many demands from people who look nice but didn’t read.
About me, I am moving a lot because I am a curious person and I can’t stay very long in one place, kind of nomadic soul, adventurer, discoverer. My desire to explore the world and it’s inhabitants drives me, in my job, in my life. I have to say that while travelling the world I received a lot, mostly from people who had nothing in terms of “having”, but everything in term of “being”. So if you are in the same philosophy of life, we can share stories.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
The list is pretty much too long...but as a big traveler I am fond of Nicolas Bouvier, Ella Maillard, Alexandra David Neels.
Same for music, I am listening every style of music only if it is good for my ears, but I love jazz, soul, funk. Black voices.
Movies: I could talk about it forever....
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In Japan, me and my friend were hitchhiking from Kyoto to Nozawa Onsen, a place in the mountains near Nagano. It is quite a long distance. After almost a day of nothing, a car took us but he doesn’t stop and finally drives us in the wrong direction. It happened 2 times in a row, we couldn’t be more far away from our destination. It was 8pm. Lost in the middle of a highway, I was strolling in the corridors of the service area with my sign, tired and disillusioned, thinking of the wonderful night we might have here... A young Japanese couple came to us, asking if we needed help. A little light! They were going in the opposite direction but they proposed to drive us a little closer to another highway in the good direction. So kind. We are driving together, and again, problem with direction. Haha. Can’t believe it. It is so big that I let it go. I am tired, hungry, and maybe a little angry also about this day. And at this point my brain literally withdraws. I don’t think about the destination, the next stop, I am just thinking maybe life tells us not to go there, so let’s listen to life, and shut down. The couple still tries to help asking about the final destination calling a friend to speak English with us...we can’t do this anymore. Out of nowhere, the couple tells us right away: we will drive you to your place. I am like “whaaat??” It was exactly opposite way for them. They are like: no it is just a small detour. We can’t believe it, they are unreal, just like “deus ex machina” who came for us. They will drive 5 hours to drop us and 5 hours more to go home, in the night. Who ever did that ? Who ever wanted to do that?
For many people it may be not as extraordinary as climbing a peak, diving in a blue hole, flying to the moon, but for me it is the most extraordinary thing I have experienced, above all my travelling experiences.
When to strangers forget about they personal interest to focus on the good of two other strangers. This is what we call love. And this is the most beautiful lesson of life. That day, we met 2 new friends, but above all, the perfect essence of solidarity, humanity, love.
