Music, Movies, and Books
No particular favorite...but since the question has been asked my answer would be that I did have different favorites at different times in my life...
Going back in time as far back as I can remember , when I was a kid I loved to read an old Bible which had amazing black and white pics ... Then i practically read all of Enid Blyton's books . The Faraway Tree was one of my favourites when I was a child. Then there were Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys... After that there came Alfred Hitchcock and Agatha Christie who were introduced to me when I was in the sixth grade by a school friend by the name of Rafiq Haspatel who was a super genius at studies ( We were not the best of friends but I sometimes wonder where he is now ... tried looking him up on fb but Google keeps showing results for rafiq hospital and when i choose haspatel it takes me to loads of totally crappy search results... ) ... then i read Gone with the Wind by Margret Mitchell , then came Ayn Rand... Then Allistar Maclain etc... Then Robert Ludlum then Richard Bach and Eric Segal were introduced to me by my friend Louella etc... The list is endless... you name it and I have most probably read it and seen the movie version of it OR both... Somewhere in between i was introduced to Louis Lamour by my friend Wally. Also how can i ever forget my dear Mark Twain and my favorite Sci Fi author Isaac Asimov . Michael Crichton's Sphere is one of my all time Sci Fi favourites.. and I still posses a copy of it ... I used to get so immersed in each of these books that I used to identify with the protagonist in each and every one of these books (which is nothing unusual because all readers of novels feel the same) ..... still ... and while reading them it used to be better than being at a movie.... I still remember when I read Jaws or for that matter The Omen... Full marks for the authors...
I also used to love to read about Indian mythology via Amar Chitrakatha Comics, Chandamama etc...
But one of my favorite books was The Ninja by Eric Van Lustbader which I had borrowed from my friend Philip.
I have many favourite movies ... Among animation my fav is The Lion King.
Another favourite is the Ten Commandments , then when it was released The Matrix , Mummy etc were also totally immersive for me... Shawshank Redemption too good too and getting top marks was The Gladiator as well (btw's I have watched Gladiator at least 5 times)...
I am writing this on 26th Feb 2016 after having watched The Revenant at a local theatre .. It may win some Oscars. Cannot predict accurately because I feel The Oscars are rigged . ( Otherwise how else could the most horrible movie like 'Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon' win so many awards?)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
self praise does not come easily to me ... So if you want to know about any "amazing" things that i have done you will have to speak to my friends... But be forewarned because as the popular saying goes "one mans food is another mans poison" ... What was amazing to me may seem crazy to others and vice-versa ...
