About Me

I'm a friendly, easygoing person with a passion for travel and connecting with people from all over the world. I jump at every opportunity for adventure, and I’m a firm believer in the power of cultural exchange to bring about incredible personal experiences and foster peace.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I discovered Couchsurfing during my first trip abroad when a friend and I were headed to a FIFA World Cup match in Salvador, Bahia. We were in desperate need of a place to stay, and the night before the game, a generous local offered us his flat, making it an unforgettable experience! Since then, I’ve embraced the Couchsurfing spirit, always aiming to stay with locals and share my own space with travelers. In 2014, my family and I hosted a wonderful and lively couple for nearly six months!

Interests

I love learning about new places through the eyes of locals. I’m fascinated by history, ancient cultures, science, and technology, and I’m always curious about the core values and everyday lives of the people I meet. For me, understanding these unique perspectives is what makes travel truly enriching.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've had the adventure of traveling solo through six Latin American countries, each trip filled with unforgettable people, stories, and moments I’ll tell my future grandkids (someday!). Some favorite memories include a night spent near the Amazon jungle, a challenging but beautiful climb up Cambirela Mountain in Florianópolis with friends, and savoring a local bife de chorizo with a glass of wine in Buenos Aires. In 2022, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I volunteered in Egypt for two months, working with locals to create multimedia content in Spanish and Portuguese to boost tourism. I traveled across Egypt, making lifelong friends and discovering experiences that shattered my preconceived notions about Islamic cultures.

Teach, Learn, Share

I’m a bit of a nerd and love to share what I know about a wide range of topics and to learn from everyone I meet about their perspectives, knowledge, and life stories. I can also introduce you to Mexican culture through our music, traditions, and even a taste of authentic Mexican food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I’d be happy to introduce you to Mexican culture, our way of life, and, of course, the amazing flavors of Mexican cuisine! I can also help around the house and teach some basic Spanish if you’re interested. My place is in San Rafael, one of Mexico City’s trendiest neighborhoods, full of theaters, taco spots, and local shops—and yes, I do have a couch ready for you in the heart of this vibrant area, when I'm not traveling.
