About Me

On the road again after four years of wandering in academic frameworks! Hungry for new encounters and insights in the beautiful school of life :)

I was born and raised in Belgium, but I moved to the Netherlands to study Cultural Anthropology. And now, I'm crossing France and Spain on a workaway trip.

I'm an easygoing and openminded person. A dreamer as well. And I love to travel. If I stay in one place for too long it makes me feel restless.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet people, to see how they live their lives, to share stories and philosophies... Apart from that I think it's the perfect way to experience places from a local point of view!

Interests

Art in all its aspects, but what probably fullfills me the most is to create things. Drawings, paintings, poems, stories,...I am also a beginning pianoplayer and my sister and I often sing together.
And then there's food...a topic that fascinates me in many ways. It nourishes the soul. I love to cook, to improvise, to discover, collecting recipes wherever I go...At the same time I think food choices are very political and form an interesting field for debate.

Music, Movies, and Books

Let's exchange lists when we meet :) Nick Drake adds a poetic soundtrack to my daydreams lately while traveling and watching landscapes change. One book that really moved me and taught me about love is Kundera's 'The Unbearable Lightness of Being'. Same counts for the movie 'Paris Texas'. And I can watch 'Black Cat White Cat' over and over again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 19, I jumped on a plane to Peru to work as a volunteer in a kindergarten. A lovely hostfamily welcomed me in their home for half a year and shared with me all beautiful and funny details about their culture - an unforgetable experience that made me grow as a person and challenged my pespective on the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Dutch with a Flemish accent :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

A passion for food and music! We can exchange recipes and cook yummy meals together, sing and go to concerts...Or we can just share funny anectodes, talk about our dreams, have brainstorm sessions about how we can change the world,...
