ABOUT ME

'All' about me, well, that will be difficult, because I don't know myself even that well. But I'm Eelste, studying Gender at the Goteborg University.
Beside I'm active: I used to work as student coordinator in the neighborhood I lived in, I was organizer/ leader in a nature-youth organization and doing many other things beside my study's, mostly also fór my study's.

I've been EVS volunteer in Latvia in a cultural centre in the middle of nowhere. I loved it, and it made me stronger. Traveling is one of my musts, because when I'm not at home I feel more free, more myself. Mostly people are saying to me when I come home: you look so good! Yeah, because I wasn't at home...

What more about me? I'm a little stranger in this big world, but who isn't... My constellation is fish, if you would be interested. People around me call me an activist or feminist, maybe I am. I'm just who I am, and you can call me whatever you'd like :)

PHILOSOPHY

I don't know whether its a good idea to write down here where I'm thinking about, because maybe you will think I'm crazy..... But okay, more or less I can try. On this moment I discover myself, though of course, I will never know, the humans mind is always under his way...

But however, I live to find out the way to combine traditions and modern world, to live as good as possible for the world and nature, without getting the feeling I'm missing something. Because the modern world has something good, but we are too far from where we original are from: nature. And that's bad, really bad. So yeah, that's my ambition right now.

I don't like it to complain all the time. It would be better to realize, that life is just as it is, if its raining its good for the flowers, if the sun is shining you can enjoy it, if its freezing its cold, and that's just the way it is. :)

Well... This is one of my philosophies about one topic, I have sooo many philosophies about a lot of topics lol... And I love to share them and maybe even more: hear somebody else's!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I travel a lot, and the best if you travel is meeting locals. You don't know a place by a book, or by just wandering around. To meet, to talk, to exchange, that's how you get to know a place.

Note: it might be that my response rate it very low, because in Amsterdam where I used to live I got so many requests, even when I had it on no couch available, that I wasn't able to answer them anymore.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been to many places, and I really enjoyed it. Furthermore I hosted some people, and that was great too!! I've been twice in my life in a hostel and though it was not bad, I enjoy while couchsurfing so much more.

Interessen

Interest, that's really a big subject. Well, as I said, I love music, to make it, to listen, to feel, I like to paint and draw, to do other things with my hands, I like to climb in trees, to walk around in nature, to work for nature, I like to dance in my folk group, to sing with them, to perform with them, I like to tell stories, but also or maybe sometimes more to listen to other people, I like to write, stories, experiences, mails, letters, I like to be with my horse, to be with the goats, to make a walk with the dog.

Most of all I love to be with people where I can feel safe, where I can be myself and enjoy the time together.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Its difficult for me to say which music I like, because I'm listening to classical, to rock, to pop, to world, to jazz, blues, folk, remixx... But I can say that I don't like so much the electro, techno, remixes, and hardbeat-music.
I don't had tv all my youth, I didn't had it in Latvia, so I didn't see so much movies in my live, there I also didn't go so much to the cinema. And I'm also not an expert in this kind of things, but I liked almost every film I saw, but especially I liked 'Colour purple'... But from who and who is playing and so on, no idea.
And about books, I read in my live already a lot and I liked a lot, but the last book what I read was 'Siddharta', and I really really liked it, so much that it was in 2 days out.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

The one amazing thing what I did in my live is realizing I can enjoy life rather than worrying about live.
But okay, I did a lot of things where I have to choose from. I think on another moment I will say something else, but on this moment I would say the most amazing thing I've done is going to Latvia for volunteering service. The most amazing thing what I've seen was in England, the white horse in the hill. I'll never forget either!
