ABOUT ME
I suppose the most typical description around is that I am a student. I study International Relations at University of Tampere.
It is always a bit biased to write about oneself, but it does not hurt to give it a try. I would say that at first glance I might appear a bit unfriendly, occasionally even cold, but it is only because of my slightly reserved personality and my Finnish mentality. It is, I might add, not at all true. Under the thin surface I am very open-minded, humane and friendly, occasionally and irregularly even funny. I cherish human companionship but I also like having solitary moments every now and then. I get well along with people and I never despise the opportunity to learn to know a new person. I like to think myself as a kind person, but from time to time I am prone to dark humour and bad jokes.
I am on a constant look for learning new things, may they be undestanding of economics, cooking or kayaking. To the bottom of my heart, I enjoy having long conversations and rigorously try to understand this phenomenon of ours known as the world.
And oh yeah, I am vegetarian, if it has some importance.
PHILOSOPHY
Respect others and try to improve.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am very new to this thing. Only experience with Couch Surfing was around last Christmas when I helped my friend to organize accommodation for couple of surfers in his apartment.
Interests
World is so ridiculously full of fascinating things, but if I had to put it shortly: People and nature.
I love philosophy and discussion about humans and society. I am, naturally very interested in international politics. I also enjoy arts in all forms.
One of the most joyous things I know is hiking and trekking. Can't boast about my experience in the field of outdoor sports but I enjoy the feel of being on the trail. To travel and to get closer to nature, it sure is something.
I like cooking very much and welcome every piece of information which helps me to improve.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like movies and I am not very picky about the genres. I have to say, that I have not seen too many good horror movies or comedies, though. Some of my favourite films would include: Fight Club, Pan's Labyrinth, The Taxi Driver, 2001: The Space Odyssey, The Lives of Others and the movies of Monty Python.
I mostly listen to metal and rock, but I like other types of music as well and the older I grow the more I have interest and tolerance towards all kind of music.
Nowadays I do not read as much as I used to if study-related literature is not included. The latest project of mine was The Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. If I was to come up with the all-time literary hero of mine, I would say he is Franz Kafka.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am amazed by many things in life, great and small.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am no teacher of any sort, but I am happy to share things I have come to know with others. I think my main limited expertise is more on the intellectual field and I could offer to share some insights and food for thought about society and philosophy for instance. Suppose I could also share a tip or two about camping, hiking and outdoor life, cooking and some other subjects.
As mentioned above, I am very interested in many things and almost nothing makes me happier than obtaining new skills or knowledge.
