Overview
About Me
i'm all about natural ways and mindful thoughts, and a little bit of spiciness that physical challenges give.
mostly I love to spend my time outside of the city, because somehow when being with nature, everything just feels a lot more calm and settled, but I love to search for coziness in the hidden oases in cities as well - museums and galleries, and basement pubs, and small restaurants, and homes of others. actually i think I like existing wherever, just with some feeling of depth.
as a person I would describe myself as an open-minded, friendly, adventurous, healthy and mostly happy human being. i'd say I don't have too many prejudices about how everything and everyone should look, work etc., so communicating with me is quite easy, at least from my point of view. i enjoy being with people to create sincere and deep connections with them, but I also truly enjoy being alone so I can reconnect with myself as well.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
i mean, I could spend my money on hotels, but that can make traveling quite expensive and also lonesome. I think it's nicer to use my energy and time as my personal currency, because at the end of the day, those are the most valuable things to us, and it's just beautiful to share it and to even receive it back. long story short, traveling is much more fun if you get to meet new people along the way. and it goes both ways, I am also super willing to meet up with new people in my own home town/country.

Music, Movies, and Books
mostly this stuff seems to change all the time, but I do have some permanent favourite ones.
regarding music, Bērnības Milicija, Krāsa (both quite undergound Latvian bands), John Frusciante, Whirr, Jeff Buckley and Gojira (I know, quite a trippy mix of genres) have impressed me the most. a big recent favourite is also ISIS. and for some reason I find it to be a guilty pleasure, but Sum41, man, that energy that they bring up in me is something outstanding.
then in movies I have a vast taste as well, but I seem to enjoy action comedy classics and the mind twisting stuff the most. there are some I can watch over and over again which are Suspiria (2018), Fight Club, Inception, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Snatch and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. and I have a big liking towards Cahrlie Kauffman, Wess Anderson and Guy Ritchie as directors.
and literature! oh, the literature. I like it either very real, almost brutally honest and vulgar or as dreamy, mystical and romantic as it gets. speaking of poetry, I am very into the Latvian contemporary one, and i think of poets such as Sylvia Plath, Charles Bukowski, Robert Frost and Rainer Maria Rilke as geniuses. when it comes to prose there is nothing better than Haruki Murakami, Kafka, Hermann Hesse and Goethe. and for a little more of thinking I would mention Nietzsche and Camus as really entertaining to read.
I feel like mentioning a lot more of everyhting, but I think I should leave it as it is now and stick with sharing these things in conversations, haha.
Teach, Learn, Share
i can teach you to cook the best meals in the universe, how to make accsesories from different materials, how to use different herbs for different needs, i can also give you an introduction lesson in painting and guitar playing, i can give very basic introductions in quite a few languages, it all depends on how much time we have, haha. i'd also be willing to learn anything new, show me what you got!
What I Can Share with Hosts
everthing I have, really. if needed, I'm up for helping in the household, I can also buy and make super tasty food for us and I can bring some homegrown teas from Latvia (if I'm coming from there). but, what's most important, I can and I would truly love to share my time with hosts. I guess to make connections is my main reason to be here. :)
