Hey! I am Emir, 21 years old. I study Philosophy at Boğaziçi University in Istanbul.

I like to listen and play music and have a great interest in different kinds of music from different persons and countries. I play a number of instruments such as guitar, bağlama, cümbüş and fretless guitar. You can watch and hear me playing bağlama with travelers from USA in my living room (https://youtu.be/8IOdISWm6xw). So, it would be a great pleasure for me to share with you some musical moments!

I also like cooking and since being a vegetarian I cook more and definitely improved my cooking skills. If we have enough time and material, we also have the chance to cook and/or taste some Turkish dishes from ''biber dolması ''(please search in google) to Turkish breakfast :D

I think I'm open-minded and would like to spend my time with what you also want to share with me. So, we are not bounded with music and cooking but we can also talk about or do anything else. If it's something new for me, it is a great pleasure to learn it from you! That's why I'm here: sharing experiences with another during travels :)

Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing

To share my experiences with travelers and learning from local people during mines.
I really want my guests to feel that they're home while staying with me. In outside, I want to show you what it is like ''living in Istanbul'' or I can just give some tips to help you during your journey.

I also expect hosts to share their experiences at least by talking. Of course, you don't have to spend your time with me. However, it would make me very happy to benefit from your experiences/thoughts especially about the city you're living in.

In anyway, feel free to ask me any kind of questions: I think it's a big chance to talk about our cultures and finding answers about what we are curious! Feel free and don't feel yourself offensive if you want to talk about Turkey, social and cultural situations in Turkey, politics, religion or anything else that may make someone feel uncomfortable. I wouldn't take anything personally. I'm also here to connect with people from anywhere, sharing thoughts and reducing prejudices :)
