ABOUT ME

I started traveling when I was very young with my parents who instilled in me an unbelievably strong desire to learn; about other nations, culture, histories, people. Ever since then I've had an insatiable need to travel. I will try anything at least once and in that spirit I am striving to visit at least one new place every year. So, here goes nothing!

PHILOSOPHY

There are two things I try to remember on a day to day basis that, while cheesy, are actually very important.

1) "I practice being fearless every day".
2) "She was free in her wildness. She was a wanderess, a drop of free water. She belonged to no man and to no city".

For me, these two things go hand-in-hand. Although I love learning, this has sometimes held me back. I can be far too cautious and concerned with my future professional career and it oftentimes keeps me from really experiencing things. So, being free and wild is being fearless to me. Through my travels I hope to face my ultimate fear of letting go.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

After spending 4 months in Spain on study abroad, I realized that I would be willing to sacrifice a lot of time and money in order to travel. BUT because I'm a full-time student, money is tight. Couchsurfing is the perfect compromise because it takes one less expense away AND I get to spend time with locals learning about local customs!

I love reggaeton, classical Spanish guitar, fun current Pop music, and everything in between! (just not heavy metal music).

If you talk to me about Wuthering Heights or Anna Karenina you are sure to get my attention. These are two of my favorite books of all time!

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

During my last night in Spain, my friends and I stayed out all night dancing and then took a cab to the beach at 5:30am to see the sunrise over the Mediterranean Sea. That was the first time that a travel experience has ever brought me to tears.
