CURRENT MISSION

I'm traveling... very, very slowly. I travelled a bit when I was younger and got disillusioned with the tourist lifestyle: staying somewhere only a day or two, missing all the details of the place. So I'm taking my time, and loving it!

ABOUT ME

I grew up mostly in California, moved to Florida in high school, and fell in love with travelling shortly after I graduated. I struck out on my own and have been spending the last few years exploring new states in various parts of the country. I am new to Ottawa, though I was born here, and I'm hoping to get to know the culture and the history here a little better through this community.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe life is about living fully and loving wholly. I am often obnoxiously optimistic and quite excitable. The world is a dazzling place. Adventure Beckons.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm brand new to CS, but I'd love to participate in any way I can. Out in the world I sponsor a little boy in Bangladesh and donate to Kiva.org as often as I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed on many a couch or floor or garage or tent in my days on the road. I've spent a great deal of time in Walmart parking lots. It's decent but impersonal. I'm really excited to get into this community of couch surfers I've been hearing so much about.
My first few couch surfing experiences have all been immensely pleasant. I'm looking forward to continuing this in Europe in a couple months! : )

Interests

I'm a dabbler in everything. I have very recently been expanding my horizons. I sculpt and carve, play the guitar, juggle, study Italian, write poetry and blogs, read compulsively, explore, make friends, jump in puddles, and anything else that fills time when I'm not working (which I also love).

Music, Movies, and Books

Everything. Absolutely everything. Notable mentions bookwise are Life of Pi, The Alchemist, The Princess Bride, and The Little Prince. My favourite singers are Jason Mraz, Bushwalla, and Butch Walker.
But these are in no way exclusive! I love it all!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I jumped out of an airplane from two miles in the air. The rush of the wind in my ears was deafening and the air forced its way into my lungs. I had to re-learn how to exhale as if all the oxygen in the world wanted nothing more than to stay a part of me. It was one of the most exhilataring and affirming moments of my life.
