About Me

Hello everyone! I'm Efraín, affectionately known as Efra 🤙🏽, and I come from the vibrant city of Puebla in Mexico. At 28, I'm just an ordinary guy with an extraordinary passion for exploring new destinations, nature, and life in general! 🏃🏄🏽‍♂️🏊🏽‍♂️🚵🏼‍♂️🗻

Despite studying International Business, which keeps me rational in certain aspects, I have a deep affection for arts, dramaturgy, cinema, and music.

I'm more of an extrovert, thriving on meeting new people, attending parties, and enjoying concerts. Yet, I also relish my alone time, immersing myself in reading, writing, or simply savoring music. Sports are a big part of my life, and I'm particularly drawn to outdoor activities like hiking, running, and working out.

Currently, I'm embarking on a new adventure – pursuing a master's degree in Melbourne, Australia, with a focus on entrepreneurship and business. I find joy in Couchsurfing, as it provides a fantastic opportunity to meet people who can truly broaden your horizons. Life, at times, lacks spontaneity, so I make an effort to inject randomness: taking random paths, engaging with diverse groups, and selecting destinations on a whim. These are all fantastic ways to create opportunities and encounter amazing human beings.

Music, Movies, and Books

One of my favorite books on world history that has left an indelible mark on my mind is "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. This captivating narrative takes us through the threads of history, from the dawn of humanity to the complexities of the modern world.

In the realm of music, my heart beats to the rhythm of electronic and house genres. Speaking of sensory experiences, I am utterly enamored with festivals, particularly the magical events in Tulum. I have spent three entire summers immersed in the vibrant blend of music, art, and culture that these festivals offer. The connection with nature and the unique essence of Tulum in the Mexican Caribbean create an unforgettable experience.

Regarding cinema, my taste leans towards novels based on real stories. For narratives rooted in reality, masterpieces like "The Pursuit of Happyness" and "Schindler's List" have deeply resonated with me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A few years ago, I embarked on an odyssey that became one of the most incredible experiences of my life: an uninterrupted journey across South America for three magical months. My adventure began in the heights of the Andes, exploring the majesty of Machu Picchu in Peru. From there, I immersed myself in the vibrant culture of Bolivia, wandering through its colorful markets and discovering the unique beauty of the Salar de Uyuni.

My journey took me through the lush Amazon rainforest in Brazil, where I had close encounters with the most astonishing fauna and flora. Later, I made a stop in Buenos Aires, where the tango and the passion of Argentina enveloped me in their unmistakable charm.

The climax of this odyssey was spending the Christmas and New Year festivities in the bustling city of Rio de Janeiro. The illuminated beaches, the sound of samba floating in the air, and the effervescent energy of the celebration made these dates an unforgettable chapter in my journey. I danced to the rhythm of the music, immersed myself in the colorful pre-Carnival, and enjoyed spectacular fireworks over Copacabana Beach to welcome the new year.

Each day was a new adventure, full of discoveries and encounters that enriched my perspective on the diversity of South America. This journey was not only a geographical exploration but also an inner journey that etched indelible memories in my heart. An experience that confirmed that, sometimes, the best stories are written when we let ourselves be carried away by the current of the unknown.
