About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To open my eyes to new cultures, new sceneries, and gain a greater appreciation for people's differences.

ABOUT ME

Never did like these 'All About You' sections but here we go. I am passionate about living life to the maximum and taking advantage of everyday. I consider myself an upbeat, spontaneous, positive person that wants to experience new things all-the-time (which can prove to be a problem sometimes!)

I enjoy meeting new people and hearing about their travels, experiences, culture, etc. Hobbies includes all types photography, digital editing, playing my guitar, traveling, reading, hiking, sports, self-improvement etc.

After graduating with an exciting degree in Computer Information Systems and working for a few years, I decided there is probably more to life than sitting in an office all day... so for the last year I've been traveling around Europe and living abroad (in Spain) and discovering what makes me tick!

This is very vague, but if you'd like to talk or learn more, send me a message!

PHILOSOPHY

I like to always remind myself to live a life of continuous improvement and never ceasing to learn something new everyday.

"The only stupid question is the question that questions the value of questioning".

I live by the philosophy that not every adventure is perfect and shouldn't be... difficult times and bad luck make better stories! (Who wants to hear about a perfect vacation? Not I. That's not entertaining at all ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had amazing 3 months adventure through Western Europe and met some AMAZING people. I got started on this project when I hosted a few people and later heard about this. It has been a great experience and I hope couchsurfing continues to keep its integrity and be filled with people with adventurous spirits.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first experience with couchsurfing was absolutely fantastic. My host (Laura) spent alot of time with me, showed me the areas (Madrid), introduced me to new food, helped me with my spanish, introduced me to her great friends and showed me a good time. Spending time with new people (new friends) is as fun as seeing the new sites. This is what couchsurfing is all about...

I have had many more great experiences and I now feel I have friends around Europe that I will stay in touch with!

Interests

Of course traveling and people! Photography, technology, hiking, sightseeing, music, my guitar, languages, different cultures, sports, always learning something new, and sleeping.

Music, Movies, and Books

Wow. This is a difficult question.

I have a huge music collection and I have a very hard time finding music I do not like (but it does happen). It always just depends on the mood I'm in at the time, or the task I'm carrying out.

As for books, I enjoy all types of fiction, books on traveling or personal travel biographies, business books, or learning books on different subjects. A few fictional authors I've recently enjoyed are Mitch Albom and Douglas Adams.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Most fun I've had in a 5-day stretch would have to be snowboarding on Whistler/Blackcomb Mountain in Canada and meeting people from all over the world that travel there.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I could teach or share:

1) First of all... the English Language (perhaps a little Spanish?)

2) How to survive the Spanish lifestyle.
3) How to cook new foods
