About Me
ABOUT ME
A genuine, curious, outdoor sort who feels maximum joy when in the wilderness or engaged in intense conversation (on matters of heart, brain, society, etc.). Even better when they happen at the same time!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm working on staying present, being grateful, and figuring out how to make a positive impact doing what makes me happy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I hope to one day have a couch and give back to this sort of community. For the past 6 or so years I've been more on the receiving end and I am so grateful.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed twice with a dear friend during a roadtrip from St. Louis to Boise. I had very positive experiences.
Interests
Cooking, hiking long distances, farming, reading, knitting, crafting, dancing, eating, and planning (especially what to eat next).

Music, Movies, and Books
I've been having trouble sitting still long enough to watch a full movie. Favorite books of all time include Lonesome Dove, Cold Mountain, and Cloud Atlas. I like most music except pop and pop country. I especially like music from the '30s to the '60s, I'd say. I also spent too many hours this winter reading the first three books of the A Song of Ice and Fire series. Compelling stuff.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been fortunate enough to complete both the Appalachian Trail and the Pacific Crest Trail. Gorgeous scenery, strong community, daily intense exercise, and lots of time to think.
