About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Learning to make radio stories

ABOUT ME

I am a generally happy person.

PHILOSOPHY

Life is generally pretty good. Especially when you use lots of butter in your food.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed often, hosted a little as well, hope to do a lot more of both.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Used CouchSurfing for bike trips in Maine, it was wicked.

Interests

Interests include: radio and podcasts, contradancing, making music, making comics, reading comics, simple small scale living, exploration, ethnomusicology, the idea of tradition as a vibrant and changing thing, weird and eclectic instruments, cryptozoology, splitting wood, bad puns, Vermont economic, agricultural, and political independence, creativity in general, skillsharing, alternative economies, stegosauri, travel (of course), plus a lot more.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like comics involving fascinating ideas or big monsters.

My favorite genres of music at the moment are flamenco, old time, folk, brass bands, hip hop, quebecois, klezmer, and latin.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveled around the southern part of the country on a veggie oil powered school bus for 4 months, with a break in the middle of the trip to go visit Cree people in northern Quebec.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Some outdoor skills, bones(an old instrument similar to the spoons), harmonica, making radio, how to make yogurt and sauerkraut, flamenco guitar, comics theory, a little Jungian dream interpretation, how to yodel, changing a bike tire.

Learn: Anything. Thirsty for knowledge and skills.

Share: I can play you music about Yodeling Cannibals, among other things. Would love to hear any good stories you have, I'm on the lookout for stories to make into radio pieces.
