Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Egita.
I am originally from Latvia, where I was living all of my childhood and adolescence. I moved to Guernsey, Channel Islands when I was 16, where I studied the International Baccalaureate. Now having finished that, I study Advertising at Southampton Solent University, where I also live most of the time.
I am a very active person. I like getting involved in various projects and events, as well as outdoor activities such as running, climbing and hiking. I am passionate about the environment and strive to reduce littering and food waste as much as possible.
In my free time I enjoy catching up with friends, travelling, reading, watching movies, drawing and much more!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My dream and ultimate goal is to travel the world and meet as many different people as possible. I would love to learn more about the local culture, and meet new people and converse about absolutely anything - politics, technology, food, experiences, anything.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am passionate about all kinds of music, but especially electronic music such as Dubstep, as well as a variation of Alternative/Indie music genres.
My favourite movie genre is definitely Comedy. I love having a good laugh and a pleasant feeling after the film. Then again, I also like movies based on true stories. One that struck me in particular was "The Theory of Everything", it was a beautifully crafted film and I cried probably more than I should have.
In terms of literature I very much like books based on true stories. Such books include "Into the wild" by Jon Krakauer and "Epilogue" by Will Boast
Teach, Learn, Share
As I am fluent in 3 languages, I can happily teach you some of the basics of the languages :)
I am not a master chef, but I can sure make some really nice potato pancakes! I can also help around the house, cleaning, changing a light bulb or untangling a mess of wires.
I am also a intrigued and patient listener and would love to hear your stories :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am always open to conversations and discussions, therefore I would definitely be able to tell you a little bit about my home country Latvia, as well as all the other places I have lived/been to. I will listen with interest to your experiences and adventures.
