About Me
'I am rooted, but I flow' (V. Woolf)
Hello all,
I'm an open minded dreamer and a full time wanderer! I adore meeting new people, delving into different cultures, sharing ideas and energy - that's why I travel and that's why I'm Couchsurfing!
I have spent the last six months travelling and couchsurfing with my boyfriend Eoin, who is a charming Irish man and a great laugh. We met while volunteering in a small village in remote Iceland a little over 3 years ago. After finishing our studies and working in Europe for a while, we have fulfilled our old dream to explore Asia. We've been home (in Dublin) for almost a month now as we had to cut our adventure short due to Corona outbreak. Our future plans are blurry nowadays, just like as everyone else's .
I come from a tiny green country near the Baltic sea called Lithuania. As far as I can remember my two biggest passions were exploring the nature and the arts. I'd call myself an excellent camper and a great self - taught kayaker as that's what my childhood was made of! Later in life I have emerged myself into visual arts - went to an art school, lived a bohemian life and was hoping to study painting... I'd spent my summers driving around Europe with my dad who is a truck driver (and my camping + kayaking tutor haha!). Once I got introduced to the simple beauty of life on the road, I could not get enough!
After high school I took a gap year and went to Iceland, which kind of changed my life! Since then I have lived in London, studied and worked in the cultural scene in Lithuania, kept on coming back to Iceland where I met Eoin, who I followed to Dublin... Here I am now - done with my degree, having worked in many different fields and countries, but still very thirsty for finding meaning trough travelling...
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I admire the idea of Couchsurfing - the sharing, the connecting, the places it might bring you! For me Couchsurfing is all about giving into the flow, trusting the Universe and letting the trip create itself.
Thanks to Couchsurfing I was able to hitchhike around Iceland at the age of 18, which was my first big solo adventure. It has truly changed my life. Being hosted by strangers was an eye opening experience. The welcoming I have received gave me immense hope in human beings.
I am wandering around the globe in search of peace! I'm striving to meet like - minded people willing to share their growth experiences and advice.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
I am a proud melomaniac and a lover of 60s, 70s, 80s music, from disco to rock and roll. 'Pet Sounds' by Beach Boys and 'Rumours' by Fleetwood Mac are my favourite albums of all time. I am totally obsessed with David Bowie and Nick Cave; I also adore young Elthon Jonh, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Beach Boys, MGMT, Father John Misty, Queen, The Cure, Beck, Rolling Stones, Paolo Nutini, Arctic Monkeys, The Killers, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Björk, Patti Smith, Daft Punk, Roisin Murphy, Ásgeir Trausti, Belle and Sebastian...
Films:
I love absurdity, bizarrness and great camera work in cinema. My favourite directors are Wes Anderson and David Lynch. I am a huge fan of Louis Theroux, Martin Scorsese, Coen brothers, Richard Linklater, Anders Thomas Jensen, Michael Gondry, Richard Curtis and many others. My most beloved movie is the sentimental 'Amélie' by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. The best movie I've ever seen must be the legendary 'Once Upon a Time in America' by Sergio Leone. A few movies I have recently watched and loved are 'Call me by your name' by Luca Guadagnino and 'Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri' by Martin McDonag.
Books:
I adore poetry, dystopian and absurd literature, 20th century literature, philosophical essays, short stories and memoir books. My all time most beloved book is 'Winnie the Pooh' by A. A. Milne. A few I have recently read and loved are 'Sapiens: A brief history of humankind' by Yuval Noah Harrari, 'Walking trough walls' by Marina Abramovic, 'Just kids' by Patti Smith.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
At the age of 21 I have decided to follow my heart and quit a very good job and a 'successful' life, because deep down I was lacking meaning and contentedness (bumping into a man who I now call my partner also helped:)) I chose to follow love, living abroad, working random jobs and travelling instead. These wanders helped me grow into possibly feeling ready to settle down for a bit soonish!
Teach, Learn, Share
Above all I am passionate about nature and sustainability. Eoin and I try our best to live as minimal/zero waste as possible. I love using movement as medicine and healing myself trough nature, conscious living, good food, essential oils and positive energy! I am also keen to learn about sustainable and self sufficient living. I'd love to meet like minded folks and share eco - experiences! I am also more than happy to share about my journey towards minimalism and encourage you to get engaged!
