Hey! We're a nice couple of backpackers on our way to start a big journey.

Egor holds MS in Physics, has worked as a Data Analyst in an international bank, but left his 9-5 job to fulfil his dream to travel the world. Egor is also really into the art of culinary, can talk about food for hours and cooks really well:)

Elya is a freelance photographer. She has studied Chinese history and culture at the university and even spent one semester abroad in Dalian, China. Despite it wasn't her major, I become really into digital marketing and worked at marketing agency after graduation. However, my passion for photography was stronger and I left the agency to be able to focus on it full time.

Fun fact: Elya's granddad was a professional photographer, he was one of the first people to shoot film in his harsh industrial hometown in Siberia.

We met each other while volunteering in a surf camp, located on Kamchatka peninsula. He was working as a cook and I was an administrator and helped with cleaning as well. We spend two wonderful summer seasons there and met amazing people. Oh, and of course fell crazy in love with surfing and each other:)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet wonderful people, see the world, get new friends, learn languages and other cultures, need someone to share what I'm cooking.
I think that everyone comes to couchsurfing with similar reasons.

Interests

We are both really into recycling and sustainable living.
We really enjoy good and bright food and always want to learn more about local produce and recepes.
And we share our love for surfing and one of the goals of our journey is to get somewhere where we can surf all year long and never see snowy winter again.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Egor was once at a space launch site and even built part of it.

We both volunteered in surfcamp in Kamchatka peninsula and our first surfing in life was in cold water in thick full wetsuit and even surfed in winter in freezing cold water.

Elya was a volunteer at a winter Universiade.

Teach, Learn, Share

Egor would be glad to help with cooking and menu planning.

He's good with numbers and data, so he can definitely be helpful with creating a convenient system of storing and organising data and data visualisation (charts, diagrams). He can share some useful Excel tips with you as well. Egor also can teach Physics, Math and some data analysis.

Elya can definitely help with creating content for your site and social media. She also worked as a marketing manager in an agency, so It'll be a pleasure of mine to help you with your social media and marketing strategy development – define target audience, key communicative values, customer barriers, etc. She also like to help with some administrative tasks, cleaning, gardening if needed:)

We're both open to different tasks required as the main goal for us is sharing our knowledge and skills while having good time in the places with good energy and nice people around.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Egor can share his vast knowledge of cooking techniques (how to make best scramble eggs and super easy poached eggs) and can also tech you to work with dough and bake bread.

Elya can tell a lot about photography, and international relations, she has so many interesting stories about China. She is also knowledgeable about ecology and recycling.
