Chi sono

After spending a year as an English teaching assistant in the north of France, I am enjoying a new life in Boston. Always looking to explore!

CURRENT MISSION

To see beauty in the small things in life each day. To fully wear out my vagabond shoes (en parlant le français quand possible...). To meet new people, to explore parts of the world I've never been, and to see what life is like in other places through the eyes of locals. To share with people this cool new place where I live too.

ABOUT ME

My main goal in life is to see as much of the world as I can. It's out there, so why not experience it all? I love meeting people, sharing meals, and exploring back roads. I'm also a locavore, so I try to get off the beaten path as much as possible, in as many ways as I can. I do a bit of writing and travel photography. I am passionate about farming and local food, and could talk about this for ages. My favorite way to see things, as they say in France, is à pied (on foot), because I think you can see more of the world this way. I'm a wanderer at heart, and plan to keep it that way.

Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing

I don't want to just visit places to take pictures of monuments- I want to really dive into the life and culture of wherever I am and to meet the people who live there so I can say I really experienced each place I go. I think traveling is the best way to learn, and I love the hospitality that is shared within this kind of community.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I see my life as an adventure, and a big part of that adventure is meeting new people from all walks of life. I can't host right now, but I'd love to hang out!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my circle, we call it "urban pioneering". We've always gone to new places and met new people, slept on couches-friends', friends of friends', etc. But I only recently found out that "couchsurfing" is an actual community of people who've been doing just that for years, traveling and meeting people and getting a taste of what life is like in another's living room. Now I have a lot of friends who host and surf, but I personally have only done it a few times. They were trips to remember, and I hope to have many more adventures and conversations like these to come!

Rode a rented bike through the vineyards of Provence to the hilltop village of Gordes

Insegna, impara, condividi

I am always looking to get better in French, and the best way to learn, I think, is through conversation. Donc si tu parles français j'aimerais bien parler avec toi! I play a little bit of guitar, but would love to learn how to pick better. I love sharing meals with people I meet, and I can share lots of recipes for curries, soups, and stews with lentils (that I can also cook for you!). I could talk for hours about books, culture, and organic food and sustainable farming. I can share a different perspective on America with you, and it's my goal to try and break down the negative stereotypes so many people have about my country.

Cosa posso offrire ai padroni di casa

An interest in their stories, conversations en français, a warm meal (I'm a pretty good cook), an open mind, lots of experience working on a small-scale sustainable farm, stories from my experience living overseas and teaching English
