About Me
I was lucky enough to go to different corners of the world from an early age which created an addiction that is now with me forever. Different cultures, food and experiences have shaped a world for me that deserves to be explored! Sharing these experiences with others either planned or (preferred) spontaneously has created some pretty cool memories for me over the years.
I have over the years also become more and more fascinated in how the world works. Still a student I want to keep the ball rolling and travel more and experience more!
What I like to do when travel:
I want to get to know the place I'm visiting. Every place I have been was made special because of random encounters with locals. I like getting lost in a city and seeing parts which I would have not encountered otherwise. Show me or recommend me the spot, the bar or place that means something to you and I will be forever in your debt. If you want to just talk that's cool too though.
I like moving on foot while in the area. Of course I won't say no to the subway.
While the odd club can be nice I by now enjoy the direct contact and sharing experiences getting to know the places and people of a city, town or village over a glass of beer or other.
What I talk about:
Technology, traveling, physics, music, movies, politics, philosophy, food, alternative realities.. I'm interested in lots of things and have been surprised by new things often. I'm not very big on sports though.
I'm pretty low maintenance. Give me a place to rest and a blanket and I'll be happy :) If you want to cook together I'm definitely up for it.
--SORRY I CANNOT HOST RIGHT NOW. I'M IN THE PROCESS OF MOVING PLACES :( --
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
(Nearly) every person I've met while couchsurfing, through a friend that's hosting or couchsurfs him or herself has been awesome. Lots of different stories and a huge variety of hopes and problems, all with a similar openness and a passion for the world.
Best CouchSurfing experience:
Went to Amsterdam a few years ago, planning to see the city until the first train goes home. Had a blast and had read about a couchsurfing meet up that was happening in the evening and ended up heading there. Met a bunch of cool people and ended up spontaneously crashing on a New Zealand/Canadian couple's couch living in the city.
Random experience:
Watching impromptu harbour music concert being performed by a bunch of students who also happened to be musicians on a random house party the host had organized for my travel buddy and me to be invited to in Hamburg. Beautiful.
Interests
I love putting myself in situations I have never been in, without having any clue what will happen. This is mainly because I want to have a completely unexpected experience, which were until now, for the most part, extremely positive.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) Beijing, China. The extremely vibrant culture clash between the old, the new and communism swept me completely off my feet. It is just unbelievable.
2) Living in downtown Sydney in a skyscraper for several months, then swapping it for living in a remote valley on a farm rehabilitating it for two weeks, 70 kilometers from the nearest town, then traveling. Falling asleep while looking at the Milky Way while camping in central, rural Australia.
3) Singapore with the contrast between skyscrapers on one side and the lush green it is situated in on the other.
4) Hitch-hike through Europe to end up living in a rooftop apartment 40 meters away from Sagrada Familia for two weeks for free.
