About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being grateful for all the small things in life

ABOUT ME

I was born and raised in the beautiful area of central Germany. Being a Wandervogel (sort of boy scout) since I was 12 I have become a real globetrotter pretty early on. Since I left my home town to go to university I have lived in many different cities and countries and have traveled a lot. Mainly together with my wife, Jule.

I love learning more about foreign cultrues, languages and people (seems I studied East Asia Studies for a good reason then) and I think I will never be fed up traveling ;)

I have lived abroad for several years (UK, China, Latin America) and am now living and working in Frankfurt, Germany.

I don't smoke and am a vegeterian (but I of course also like you if you're not, don't be scared off ;) ...) but I like the occasional pint or two.

To me Couch Surfing is a great place to find common minded people.

PHILOSOPHY

Always see the good side of life and be happy about what you have, not upset about stuff you dont.

Everyone should have their own opinions but should be tolerant towards different viewpoints.

Smile :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Love the concept, trying to meet more interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have lived and studied together with people from all over the world. When I moved back to Germany I missed meeting international people. That's the main reason why I'm here. Currently I do however live in Shanghai again (so the "living abroad fever" has caught me once again.

I'd be glad to share my thoughts and experiences with you and to speak some English or other languages I know.

Interests

Travel (backpacking), swimming, lifeguarding (DLRG), squash, spy novels, foreign languages, foreign cultures, networking, documentary films, wind orchestra, nature, German Bundesliga football (watching only) ;-)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Climbing the Great Wall of China in a remote spot during the early hours of the day and enjoying the sunrise in absolute silence.

Whale watching in a small rubber dinghy and spotting 7 fin whales, one blue whale and some common dolphins. Absolutely amazing animals!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love anything when it comes to languages. So if you wanna learn some basic Chinese stuff or the like; or if you wanna teach me a few random words in your native language that'll make me happy
