About Me

When in doubt I always drive straight until I see something recognisable, a highway sign or till I am impossibly lost then I will stop and maybe find directions to some food because I like to eat and priorities.

ABOUT ME

I am a fun-loving 23 year old with a very laidback attitude. I love travelling, I have been to most countries in Asia (and I am Asian) and would be glad to share my experiences and culture with others! I am a very happy and anything-goes person - except with raw meat/seafood, ugh.

I usually travel with my boyfriend Eden - he does not have a CS profile and I don't have many references yet since I am new here, so here is a link to our Facebook pages for verification/friendly purposes:
https://www.facebook.com/darkamberlights (me)
https://www.facebook.com/edensbacon (the boy)

I have very varied interests and will love to talk about things that don't mean anything, while Eden usually likes more serious things like history and politics and obscure facts.

p.s. Both of us smoke, drink, are not vegetarian and are decidedly un-religious - however we are very respectful of others and will refrain from any activities that our hosts are not comfortable with in their vicinity.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that Couchsurfing is a great marriage of being able to experience and learn culture and history from people who actually live it (and not just a signboard), find a place to stay and most of all, make friends!

Interests

Most things under the sun// I love to dance!

Making new friends, trying new foods(but not raw meat cause it scares me), basking in the sun like a lizard, animals, new experiences, strange cigarettes, fruit, junk food, sweater weather, seasides, boats, cars, potato chips, music, air conditioning in Southeast Asia (it gets real hot), funny things, water

and travelling of course.

Music, Movies, and Books

Anything chill.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting patched up after a motorbike accident with a dog and a drunk cyclist in a 24hr pharmacy in the middle of the night in a random small Cambodian town in the outskirts and then riding off again only to see a giant durian monument in the next town and eating some durian at a roadside stall that was still open. The stall owners laughed at our bandages. We laughed at the way they cut the durian horizontally.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd like to learn other languages(I major in Linguistics) and about other cultures. I'd like to try extreme sports too!!

I'd like to share my local cuisine with others. Though neither my boyfriend or myself can cook well, we'll be sure to bring some tidbits from home for our friends overseas! Singapore is well known for its variety and quality of food, along with its ban of chewing gum and corporal punishment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Would love to share anything and everything about my culture, country and travel experiences with my hosts! Especially well-versed in travelling around Asia and Southeast Asia - so if you are thinking of heading to Asia, my boyfriend and I will be most happy to share our stories, tips and advice!

Will probably also bring something more substantial i.e. some local tidbits as mentioned...
