ABOUT ME

We are a family of four: Ivan, Alex, Eilias and Marlous. Ivan and Alex are a couple of cheeky two-year olds, who both like dancing, playing in the park and eating ice creams. Eilias is a former police officer from Iraq and Marlous a former activist from the Netherlands. We landed in Manchester through a string of (romantic) chance and the idocyncracies of European immigration law, and are now making our home in this down-to-earth city.

PHILOSOPHY

Treat each other with respect, clearity and love. Be independent, but not alone. Take responsibility for your own problems and try to not create too many for other people. Can't say we always live by it, but we try!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Marlous has hosted and surfed since 2007. See my profile here. As a family we started hosting when the kids were four months old, but that proved a bit early. Now we are ready to give it another go!

Interests

Alex is teaching himself the alphabet and likes to paint large and beautiful canvases. Ivan is a twinkly-toed dancer and a very perceptive people's person. Both are always up for a trip to the playground or a rumble on the floor. Eilias likes to do sports and show people the city. Marlous likes to go out, to concerts, nature trails or exhibitions. All of us like discovering new stuff, going to festivals and going into town.
