About Me

Curious about life, curious about people, curious about places... Maybe that describes me best? I am not so much of a "do -list" person, neither "bucket list" person but more enjoying the atmosphere(s) of the places and events - and it may be a rough seaside with strong winds and amazing sound of the waves, cosy jazz concert in a small pub, lovely stroll through the old town, joyful dancing in swing social, hustle and bustle in the busy market place, peaceful evening with good food and wine... You name it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to see how locals live in different places. For me, getting to know new people - learning new perspectives, world views, life stories, etc - is the most important part of traveling around. It is inspiring to chat and share.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite authors: Andre Brink, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Elif Shafak, Gabriel Garzia Marquez, Joel Haahtela, Celeste Ng, Linda Olsson, Jenny Erpenbeck, Susan Abulhawa, Katriina Järvinen, etc.

Quite large range of music is appealing to me from classical music (Mozart, Bach, Saint-Saëns, Chopin, etc.) to Donny Hathaway, Marta Gomez, or Adele; bossa nova, jazz, a cappella... and salsa, reggae, swing all are excellent music to dance...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have worked three summer seasons as a "lighthouse guard" in a lone rocky island in the middle of the open sea. And took care of bringing both essentials and visitors by RIP boat ;-)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love learning new languages - and I can also "teach" any I know
