I'm always looking for the balance between discovering new places and building a home and a community, or maybe many homes around the world.

I've been on two long trips in South America (mainly Chile and Argentina) and am back in California for the time being. I came here on a whim and stayed for the beauty, the redwoods, the people, the food, the music, the beer.. the generally wonderful life you can enjoy here. I'm a traveler at heart though so who knows what the future will bring!

PHILOSOPHY

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed through my South American travels and hosted a couple of times with friends in New York, and in San Jose. I've met amazing people and made great friends through couchsurfing.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once, two Danish couchsurfers were living in my apartment during a spring party. They brought Heineken and left a sweet message on our color paper-covered wall.

Some months later, I found myself at a nighttime garden party in Coyhaique, Chile, drinking cerveza with Patagonian bikers and my musical Couchsurfing host. The possibilities seem endless.

haruki murakami, joan didion, thomas pynchon, pablo neruda are some of my favorite authors. Sara Suleri's Meatless Days is probably one of the best pieces of literature I've ever read.

As for music, I love anything from Bob Dylan to the Naked and the Famous to Kid Koala, and always looking for something new...

If I had to, I can build a bed or skirt a trailer, though hopefully that won't be necessary! I've also learned how to plant a garden in the middle of New York City (and in the campo of Chile). I can make a heart out of a dollar bill. And a really good chicken pot pie.

I have always wanted to learn how to make really good, hearty bread... and beer... and wine... and basically all things I enjoy eating.

Si tuviera que, puedo construir una cama o una falda de un remolque, pero, ojalá que eso no será necesario! También he aprendido a plantar un jardín en el centro de la ciudad de Nueva York (y en el campo de Chile). Puedo hacer un corazón de un billete de un dólar. Y un muy buen pastel de pollo.

Siempre he querido aprender a hacer el pan ... y la cerveza ... y el vino ... y, básicamente, todas las cosas me gusta comer.
