Hello! My name is Justinas (yoos-tin-us), I am a 34 year old creative man from Lithuania, living in the second biggest city Kaunas. I am an art historian-theorist (I hold a PhD in the field), cultural projects manager and an artist.

I live (and travel) together with my partner Rasa (35) - she is an architect, as well as an interior designer. Rasa also works with cultural projects. We are both very eager to learn more about other cultures, history and architecture and share many interesting and fun things of the country we are from!

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I would say that couchsurfing was (and still is!) the best way to learn about the world we live in. It is a community which lets us to go deeper into other cultures. I've already had quite some couchsurfing experiences in the past and they always bring back good memories.

兴趣

I am deeply interested in culture and arts. My main professional scope revolves around cultural management, but I also sometimes do theatrical productions, interdisciplinary projects and performance art pieces. I also experiment with music, painting, photography, film and other forms of artistic expression. I play many different musical instruments (not on a professional level!) and I really love to try up new instruments and do some music jams with other people. Architecture and urbanism are other passions of mine - I am very interested in the history of architecture, and Rasa is a professional architect herself.

I also love riding bicycle and doing long trips on it for more than few weeks. I ride a road bike, a tandem bike which I upgraded myself, and recently - a folding Brompton bicycle. I also love boating - last year I built 9 meters long pedal powered tandem boat myself! I like to take it on Lithuanian rivers and explore the nature.

音乐、电影和书籍

I mostly listen to some older music (up to the late 70s). From classical to jazz, blues, golden age of rock, soul, psychedelic and experimental stuff. I have also a great passion for movies and watch them regularly almost every night. I love films in general - as entertainment and as an art form: from arthouse cinema and independent films to mainstream cinema and Hollywood productions. Cinema is one of my favourite topics.

I have cycled through Europe on a couple occasions, making few thousand kilometers each time. One of those times was on a tandem bicycle! 2019 I also cycled around Japan together with Rasa on our folding Brompton bicycles.
