About Me

23-year-old looking to finally live for herself and without fear or doubts. I've been putting off travelling for a while, always thinking of what my family would say about me being a solo girl but now I'm ready to take that step.

Lots of friends said I have a good sense of humour, I'm pleasantly flattered by this though I can't guarantee a whole impromptu stand-up show when we meet! ;)

I'm always curious about local cultures and food (especially food! 😋) so if you're into learning and discovering new things then we'll surely get along.

My IG is feishamansfriend , I don't post much but it might help you get to know me better

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've decided to start travelling before I start my medical internship in October, and of course being a fresh graduate, budget is always a concern. So when I heard about CS, I thought the idea is genius: a mutually beneficial system where you can meet new people and learn the local culture from hosts? Sign me up!

I'm sure a lot if not most of the CS users are passionate travellers, so it'll be super fun to meet up and exchange stories and experiences.

Interests

I can start reading a book and not put it down until I finish it, and afterwards I would scour the Internet for more fanmade content, that's how much I enjoy reading. I'm also a huuuuuge fan of arts in all form, especially paintings and comics! If you guessed galleries and libraries are my favourite places then you're right. I watch football rather often (though I myself suck at it 😅), my fav team is Borussia Dortmund.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Believe it or not I unironically enjoy Eurovision, so a lot of my favs are from there. But other than that I love Imagine Dragons, Westlife, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Lauren Aquilina, Ben Platt, My Chemical Romance and Japanese bands like RADWIMPS, ONE OK ROCK

Movies/Shows: Love torturing myself with heartfelt tearjerkers, so movies like Up, Marley and Me, Call Me By Your Name, Good Will Hunting, The Fault in Our Stars, Pursuit of Happyness... stuff that gets you sitting through a box of tissues. Also love both Marvel and DC universe. Some of the TV series I followed: Suits, Merlin, Stranger Things, Supernatural, Dark, Mr Robot, Good Omens... Oh and I'm an anime fan!

Books: Harry Potter, anything John Green, The Maze Runner, Kafka on the Shore and I loveeee reading Japanese manga like Attack on Titan, Black Butler

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got lost with friends at Arthur's Seat Eagle in Mornington on what was supposed to be a 1.5km hike down to the cable car base... We ended up walking almost 15km to get there. I can tell you the story and how I cried happy tears when I finally saw the base station :')

Teach, Learn, Share

If you're a fan of hearty Asian food then I can teach you some delicious family recipes. We can try out traditional Malaysian games like batu seremban :)

I'm currently focusing on learning German and Japanese (just took a proficiency test and waiting for results!) but I'm open to learning more... There's no such thing as knowing 'too much'! Would be happy to learn about recipes from your homeland or talk about music recommendations.

As for sharing... well if you're interested in medical stories I have plenty to spare. Funny, weird, sad, inspiring; you name it I probably have it. We can also share travel stories, they are always exciting!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Malay, Chinese and Indian food recipes or a fusion of them all if you're feeling adventurous, some medical fun facts and stories, hopefully a friend in the long run. I'm okay with helping out around the house if needed. If you have a collecting hobby and would like me to bring something from home then that works too!
