Since youth I enjoy travelling whenever I've got spare time and I always enjoy meeting people with different approaches to life and the world.
I'm an information sponge who would probably download all of wikipedia (and arXiv) to the hippocampus if it was possible (and I wasn't paranoid about it). Curious about how things work, from nature to people to societies, and try to encompass as much of it as I can.
I'd like to experience many different things on my (not so) short time on this planet.

PHILOSOPHY

Just ask...
I find traveling as a kind of fuel to the soul. Maybe having experiences out of the "comfort zone" stimulates the brain to cope and look at everything again with a refreshing naivety. Something that makes you better than who you were the day you left home.
Can't be too sure about anything (especially for a scientist), but I do have my beliefs.

Being an Israeli at this time I can't avoid mentioning some politics. I'm considered moderate left-wing in Israeli society. I'm pro 2 state solution and the foundation of an independent Palestinian state, I have a few Arab friends (with Israeli citizenship or abroad) and Muslim friends I have met during my travels. I criticize my country and government for some of it's actions and support some.
I hope for a more peaceful, tolerant and prosperous middle east in the future, without religious and ethnic tensions.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I had joined this site as an host long before I used it to surf myself. When I travel I find CS a great way to meet really good and interesting locals and experience the places I visit in a different and more authentic way. I've kept in contact with many hosts and surfers along the way and even met few of them later on. When I'm back home I enjoy seeing my familiar place through the excited eyes of travellers who didn't get used to it just yet and also make their experience and stay here more interesting and special.

I hope to read more than I do nowadays due to my research.
My all time favorite book was Crime and Punishment and haven't read another Dostoyevski since (Karamazov is my next project). Usually I read a book or two from an author. I've enjoyed Don Quixote, the Prophet by Gibran, 1948, Brave New World, Terry Pratchet... I'm also enjoy reading mythologies and historical books.

My favorite directors are Coppola and Kurosawa. I'm pretty familiar with American classics though I watched some great "foreign" films (it's nice to have a gap to fill up).

I'm a fan of rock classics from the Beatles to the 90s. I also like mild electronic music, stuff like trip hop (especially Massive Attack) and some dub psi trance. I enjoy classical music from romantic and modern era, anything from Beethoven to Stravinsky. I'm also fond of classical Indian music.

I cook some pretty good Indian cuisine (but lousy with the infamous Humus, sorry). I would like to share some great travelling stories and language exchange if the time permits. I tend to discuss, philosophy, science and politics a lot.

I've just begun a new job so I'm quite busy during weekdays (Sunday to Thursday in Israel) but I can go out for a drink or just show you around Tel-Aviv at late evening.
