ABOUT ME

I love spending time with people, anywhere at all but especially outdoors, i like it when its hot and i like it when its cold, i don't like television, i like opening windows, i don't like posting letters, i like pretty dresses, i LOVE dancing, i love music, i don't like decaffeinated coffee, i like interior design, i like pound coins, i love laundrettes - their warmth and smell and whirring noises. i love to dress scruffy sometimes, i don't like bad spelling, although some people can even make that look cool. i like to decide how i feel in the morning before i open my eyes and i love the way i can change my hair colour when i want to. I play hockey but wish i was better, and i like the ticking of clocks but not the way that i waste so much time.

PHILOSOPHY

It's a cliche of course but life's too short to be unhappy. That sounds obvious to me now but i've only just realised that it's true. Some things are worth waiting for but plenty aren't. If something makes me miserable i want out. If you consider how much truth is in the assertion that anything you can imagine is real, You must use your imagination to achieve, and you must be brave sometimes. I find it frustrating that other people won't do the same (loveless relationships?shit, boring jobs?) but maybe one day i'll understand.

We had a spare room in our old house and gwen had a few people come and stay with us. It was cool but That's about it so far.

Interests

My friends, beautiful buildings, edward hopper, reading newspapers and magazines and books and being amazed how we can all read and write (why do i find this so fascinating?!) muesli and breakfast cereal in general, new places, music that other people don't listen to, hockey, listening to people talk, accents, my schedule, long walks, ants, men,

Music, Movies, and Books

I love daphne du maurier, margaret atwood. george orwell and aldous huxley. And C.S. lewis and lewis carroll. i love all kinds of music. most things actually. i can sing along to fred astaire, bop to hiphop, jump around to drum n bass or just simply listen to beautiful lyrics. i'm easy. I find films harder to engage with - it's a question of keeping up. I like hepburn films, and musicals like 'singing in the rain.' one of my favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a trek across the salar de uyuni, close to the chilean border in bolivia, we drove in our 4X4 to the middle of a volcano to see the sunrise. It was so beautiful. there were natural hot springs spilling into huge pools and even though the temperature was well below freezing we took our clothes off and immersed ourselves in the hot bubbling water, it was AMAZING!
