Über mich

CURRENT MISSION

Traveling from London to Capetown on a R80GS BMW motorcycle for our honeymoon! Looking for a nice place to rest our heads and ease our bodies after a long day's ride. Meeting other travelers and/or nice people would be a great perk too!

ABOUT ME

We are a recently married couple from NYC on a world trip. We had a surprise wedding for Eliz's family in Michigan and a rocking bash in Brooklyn at Bubby's just under the Bklyn bridge (our band was The Comic Tales of Tragic Heartbreak - check them out!). Before this trip Jason has traveled, on his motorcycle, around South America, Central America, Mexico and the US. Elizabeth has traveled in Spain, Portugal, Honduras, Belize, and Canada and has lived in Guatemala, Mexico, and Ireland. We both speak some Spanish and have learned some Turkish along the way. We started our trip in London on April 12, 2010 and are planning to continue thru spring 2011 and make our way to Capetown, South Africa (knock on wood). Elizabeth worked as a social worker in NYC for 12 years with adolescent girls and in 2004 became a doula (trained labor support professional). She has been working on a project to study childbirth practices in other cultures via interviews with midwives, doulas, and pregnant women along this trip (www.birthfromthebackseat.blogspot.com). We have been to 22 countries thusfar on this trip. Soon the bike will roll over to 200,000 miles for it's life span!

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others as you would like to be treated. Don't sweat the small stuff...

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We are traveling now and just joined CS Project. We hope to be able to offer a couch to other travelers when we return to NYC in spring 2011!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We stayed for 2 weeks in Istanbul with a CS couple who were beyond welcoming and are now very good friends of ours.

Interessen

We enjoy good food and thought-provoking conversation, cooking, reading, writing, sight-seeing, hiking, nature and the outdoors, meeting new people, and overall just having a good time. We have a really cute chocolate lab, Franny, at home who is staying with our friend (but when we are home we love taking her on hikes).

Homebirth is actually safe and not dangerous like many people think.
