About Me

I used to have another profile here — https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/hizentli, but I've lost access to my old e-mail and haven't found a way to reset my password, so here is version 2.0.

I live in Moscow and work in a geek magazine — mostly I read the texts and make them sound good. I also translate books from English to Russian and do some other freelance stuff also connected with letters. (Russian letters, not English, though, — so sorry for possible mistakes!)

I live with my husband and five degus. My husband is from the Ukraine so we're kind of international family. My degus are from Moscow though deep in their hearts they are Chileans, I believe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I still can't call myself an experienced traveler, though I've visited several European countries in the last several years. But I hope that my greatest journies are yet to be made. The future is getting smaller every year, though, so I decided to come back to this site. It gave me wonderful experience some years ago, and I'd like to have more.

I travel with my husband, who is even less experienced traveler than me (despite being ten years older). But both of us are curious and eager to know more about life in other countries, so we'll be glad to make some new acquaintances and hear some stories — and also tell our own. As it's said in my favourite TV-show Doctor Who, we're all stories in the end — and couchsurfing is a great chance for more stories to happen and to be told.

Music, Movies, and Books

My current job requires me to read and watch mostly fantasy and sci-fi, which I do with great pleasure. My favourite fandoms are Doctor Who, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings; my favourite writers are Ray Bradbury, Terry Pratchett and Kurt Vonnegut. I also like Russian literature (Chekhov, Bulgakov, Ilf & Petrov, Dovlatov, etc).

As for the music — my top-3 favourite bands are The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Aquarium.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Parachute jumping. Not very original but it was really cool. If I had another life I'd try wingsuit flying.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Sweden, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In

Russian Federation
