Hi, everyone! We are couple of russians, who once quit their jobs to travel around the world for 1 year and find more about the world and ourselves through it. It was an amazing journey and CS enriched it with many beutifull moments.

We have none hosting expirience yet, but saw it from surfers side and want to help travelers to understand and enjoy our amazing country.

In one of thousand profiles we have red, we saw a very thruthfull phrase " Host someone is an opportunity to travel staying on your own couch"

We have never used CS as a chep hostel and i don't

We have started our trip in the middle of september and plan to come back 1 year after. Since then we cycled 2500 km from Russia to Paris, spend 3 week in Barcelona learning spanish, crossed Atlantic ocean with extra cheap cruise lainer, explore Argentinian and Chilean Patagonia, Atacama desert, visited breathtaking Uyuni and Machu Picchu. Diverse Ecuador and Colombia. Now we are in USA

Most of all information below is suitable for Both of us. We have a lot in common, and we do almost all things together ( traveling, festival, movies and etc). But we have a differences too. Our profession is a good example. Roma worked in Marketing. And I worked in Philips company, as a coordinator in service of medical equipment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For us it is a great opportunity to get more from traveling, it's easiest way to meet locals, make new friends and get deeper understanding of any places. We also belive that we help people to understand and break stereotypes about our country and unravel Russia as a amazing place for travel.

We heard something about CS long time ago, but really found it out only with help of ours friend who is the one of the most popular host in Moscow. We spent few evenings with him and his guests and realised how great it is to finally start use it in this trip.

Music, Movies, and Books

We love to think that ours interests is wide so its hard to write something specific here but we will try:

First is movies, because we are addicted! We have seen more then 1500 movies and ours preferences are always changing. Lately it is specific national movies ( e.g. Iran, Czech republic, Italy, South america and etc) but of course we have favourite directors, which are - Cohen brothers, Emir Custurica, Wes Anderson, Christopher Nolan, Quentin Tarantino...

Music greatly depends on mood. But we are use to have favourite radio station in Moscow - Silver Rain Radio. We love it so much! They have mixed music choice which hard to describe but you could try to listen it in web.

We love musical festivals and concert. We were at concert of Club des belugas, Jemiroquvay, the Killers, the Muse, Brainstorm, Franz Ferdinant and different Russian groups ( ours favourites are Pompeya, Zemfira, Leningrad).

Ours favourite writers are - Lev Tolstoy, Ray bradbury, George Orwell, Ilf&Petrov, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Nabokov, Ernest Hemingway, Remark...

Quit jobs for travelling around the world for 1 year
Took part in International volunteering camp in India
Cycling for 6 weeks from Viborg (Russia) to Paris. It is 2500 km!

We love cooking and wish to find new recepies from different countries.

I am also interested in Russian history (mostly Soviet)
In my travelling I try to find Russian steps and routes. Its help me to know more about my county.
