About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS by making and giving away free prevention education videos
ABOUT ME
Friends say that I'm intelligent, honest, hard-working, patient, creative, a good listener, a decent cook, good conversation around the dinner table, and pretty funny with a mischievous sense of humor!
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in honesty, freedom of choice, and keeping your promises. It's a libertarian personal philosophy. I'm a Christian of the love, faith and grace oriented persuasion (not the self-proclaimed judgmental types one sometimes encounters), so I also believe in the Golden Rule (treat others as you would like them to treat you), and the Social Gospel (love your neighbor as you love yourself). People of other faiths and nonbelievers are welcome to stay of course!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Just getting started now. I'm thinking about hosting a "Couchsurfers Against HIV/AIDS" meeting at a coffee house where people fluent in other languages can meet and work on translating scripts into their own language.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just started. So far, very impressed with the number of community groups!
Interests
I love skiing! It's my great exercise passion. I love reading, traveling, and watching moves. I spend a lot of time making scientifically and medically accurate HIV/AIDS prevention education videos for my not-for-profit project http://www.AIDSvideos.org, which is part of the 501(c)(3) not-for-profit Global Lifeworks. We're always looking for new volunteers to translate scripts into other languages, by the way! If you have native fluency in a language other than English and want to help fight HIV/AIDS, volunteer to translate a script into your own language! This project has enabled me to work with wonderful volunteers all around the world. I also love travel, especially to places with different languages and cultures than my own and historic preserved architecture.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) seeing the snow on the mountains in Lake Tahoe on New Year's Eve illuminated by the moonlight
2) on a day at Point Reyes with 70 mile per hour incoming winds from offshore, seeing vertical curtains of mist being ripped off the top of the waves by the wind and illuminated by the setting sun from behind, creating an amazing rainbow effect
3) the first time I've gone snorkeling on a living reef with fish, and every time since then
