I'm Ekta.

My name means "unity" in Hindi and I guess that's what we're upto here at Couchsurfing and makes me the perfect couchsurfer... (wow 10 points to me for a perfect introduction :p !!) Honestly though, I find it so beautiful that we can get United as authentic travellers using this little app! :)

Soo. moving on..

I'm a 20 year old architecture student who moved to Germany by my own at the age of 18 (well, I wanted to be independent and live my life to the fullest- basically be the responsible successful adult living alone in a foreign land.. oh, my parents were so proud ) ;)
I have major FOMO! I have to, have to be doing everything and anything! And if I set my heart on something, I WILL get it ;)
I'm just one half old school, half progressive and modern soul who loves travelling, finding things that have a history & background to it, reading about crazy world theories, basically history again ::D taking pictures, eating good warm food, and just trying new things cos life is too short for monotony ..

But at the end of the day, I'm just a simple girl who loves a good company, a comfortable conversation where you can talk about anything and everything, with someone who shares the same sense of humor, & a simple honest and genuine vibe.. :)

Interests

The basic idea of moving all the way from Delhi to Germany at the age of 18 was to see the world as it is and get to know people of absolutely different backgrounds and cultures! Basically see the world from a much larger perspective. And also come back home at whatever time I wanted to as a woman :D haha! (A luxury which is sometimes not given to us back in India, sometimes it's not safe late in the night when darkness creeps in and so do some of the creeps)
But in the whole I German, I am so happy to have had such beautiful and memorable experiences living my independent little life in Berlin, Leipzig and now Aachen.

I love reading books! Encyclopedias, crime thrillers, Sydney Sheldon, Khaled Housseni's take on the modern day war-world and the reality that comes with it, your typical Nancy Drew Harry Potter and Narnia fangirl! I read Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen as a teen haha don't judgeee!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went out and partied with complete strangers who I met at a hostle after writing my last and the most important exam.
Watched at sunset at Warnemünde Beach, Rostock in -10 degrees :)
Moved to Berlin at the age of 18 completely alone and clueless. It worked out well as you can see ;)
