Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I began couchsurfing in Australia. I have been fortunate and blessed to have met many amazing fellow couchsurfers while traveling Australia, New Zealand, India, and all over Southeast Asia. It's amazing how small the world becomes.

Interests

Anything outdoors...hiking, running, camping, backpacking, scuba. I've dabbled a bit in extreme sports (skydiving, bungee-jumping, etc.), but I am a professed newbie and am always down for someone to show me something new. As a traveler, I am pretty much willing to try anything new that will expand my horizons.

On the calmer side, I enjoy reading (literally anything), live music, movies and trying new foods and drinks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Man, this one is always soooo difficult. I prefer to list what I am currently reading/watching/thinking about.
Movies: haven't seen anything new lately. Traveling and the theater don't always pair up.
Books: 'The Passage' by Justin Cronin and 'Death in the Long Grass' by Peter H. Capstick.
And Music...whatever comes on the radio, which as we speak is 'Wish You Were Here' by Incubus. Talk about a good song...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got to walk next to an active lava flow on Vulcán Pacaya, outside of Guatemala City. I was literally 2 feet from molten rock, and sometimes directly over it when I had to walk across crusted-over lava fields. It was wild being so close to something so inherently dangerous.
