About Me

Hello beautiful people! I am looking to travel and meet sweet souls along the way. I am very easygoing and low maintenance. My friends say I make delicious food and am funny, I'll let you be the judge of that :)

I can't host right now because I sold all my things and left my old life behind. However, as soon as I find a new home somewhere I will be accepting guests. :)

About me? I really feel weird talking about myself because I believe actions speak louder than words.
I am very short, and I enjoy short jokes so give me your best shot!

I have a strange educational background because so many subjects interest me. I have studied literature, Ancient Studies, Religious Studies, Ecology, Biology. I've always been very good at school but I could never handle the system. The anxiety, the exams, the overcrowded classrooms. I prefer to learn at my own pace. I still remember a lot of random information about my classes so ask me anything and I'll do my best to answer :)

I don't like bitter foods or drinks! Sorry but no coffee, beer or dark chocolate for me! Give me some sweet tea, whiskey, and candy any day. :D
However I am willing to taste anything once!

Je parle aussi français si jamais vous cherchez des francophones :)

I was born in Iran but was raised in Canada. I don't speak fluent Farsi unfortunately but I can teach you some simple words if you're curious.

I love animals, nature, learning all the plant names and species in a new area.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am quite stressed about travelling alone, I've never been in this situation before. I am looking for friendly people who don't mind hanging out and laughing with me. :)
People who enjoy going on long walks, talking about life, watching the stars, and eating good comfort food.

Interests

I am addicted to books! I don't think I've ever left home without a book in my bag.

I love to write as well, but I am never satisfied by my writing. I wrote a book but I will never have the courage to publish it. I don't mind though! I don't think I want people to read me, I mainly write for myself. I write as I breathe, freely and without a second thought.

I love science in general, but especially Animal biology, Ecology, and Wildlife Conservation. One day I hope to join the volunteers in Africa risking their lives conserving the biodiversity.

I have been on a few Ecological excursions and it was the most fun I ever had!!! Taking notes on tree populations, taking plancton samples, calculating the PH levels in different soil types, tagging micromammals, excel charts, graphs!! Oh yes please! :D

Music, Movies, and Books

I am really into these bands and musicians lately: Keaton Henson, The Antlers, Joy Division, Alcest, Animal Collective, Neutral Milk Hotel, Om, The Protomen, Death in June, Current 93...
----
Making a list of my favorite books would take hours so instead here is a list of books I've read in the past months: Le Voyageur Imprudent by René Barjavel, Farewell Summer by Ray Bradbury, Stardust by Neil Gaiman, Second Foundation by Asimov, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson, etc!
----
Some of my favorite movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Attack the Block, Breakfast Club, Princess Mononoke, Ken Park, Hot Rod, Akira, What To Do in Case of Fire, Army of Darkness, 99 Francs....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was volunteering in a hostel in Sibiu, Romania and found my way as a passenger to a car rally. Some Belgian guys drove me and a guest all the way to Bucharest through the famous Transfagarasan highway. They were all driving beautiful vintage cars. It was an amazing spontaneous experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a volunteer English teacher and have received my TEFL certificate. I can teach you if you want! I can also proofread. I can also teach French!

I love to teach and learn everything I can about cooking. I can make amazing vegan and vegetarian meals as well ;)

I love to share stories, smiles, light, and pleasant moments. I especially love to share FOOD!

Teach me anything! I firmly believe I can learn something new from anyone in the world, no matter their cultural or religious background. Everyone has something special to talk about. Talk to me!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share funny stories, recipes from different cultures, my kind attitude, help doing chores. I am a good listener and am always willing to talk about anything and finding solutions to all sorts of problems. It sounds weird to say, but I am very authentic. I laugh a lot!!!

I am very respectful of boundaries and encourage you to let me know right away if I make you uncomfortable! I love transparency and if we sadly don't get along we should be able to be open and honest about it :)

I don't expect every single person to like me, that would be unrealistic ;)
