Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC - I'm a huge supporter of indie music from my country, the Philippines. I also love listening to '90s music (across genres!); and recently, I've developed a liking for swing and nu jazz. I also like math/post-rock, classical music, beach/surf rock or lo-fi, reggaeton, as well as heavy metal!

MOVIES - Movies by Wong Kar-wai, Wes Anderson, John Hughes, and Studio Ghibli; Surrealist movies like Un Chien Andalou by Luis Buñuel, Philippine Indie Movies, romcoms from the '80s and '90s, and anything that Taste of Cinema writers recommend, really!

TV SHOWS - Criminal Minds, Stranger Things, How to Get Away with Murder, Game of Thrones, Sherlock, Elementary, Lie to Me, Breaking Bad, True Detective, Orphan Black, Mr. Robot, Penny Dreadful, House of Cards, KDramas and JDoramas

BOOKS - Unbearable Lightness of Being by Milan Kundera, Capital Misfits by Julie Koh, Smaller and Smaller Circles by F.H. Batacan, The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Quiet by Susan Cain, The Art of Asking by Amanda Palmer, Daring Greatly by Brene Brown, Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis, TRESE comics by Budjette Tan and KaJo Baldisimo, and of course—the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling.

I consume an eclectic range of materials. Wish I had all the time in the world to experience and absorb them all!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was too lazy to go back down from atop Mintugsok Falls, so I just jumped off without initially planning to do so.

Back in 2007, my family and I went on a 15-day journey by road across 20+ states starting from California to New York, and back!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you my language or anything about my culture.

If you have other things in mind, just let me know! :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I know how to cook so I can teach you if you're interested, or I could simply cook a meal for you. I could also help out with chores! I'd also like to introduce Philippine languages and culture if you're up for it. We can also bond over common interests.
