About Me

I'm a recent university graduate, having completed my B.Ed and my B.A. I, like more than a few people my age, am in the place in my life where I'm finished school but haven't quite settled down into my career. I'm a very laid back individual who loves a good book and a cup of coffee, great company and even greater beer, and everything baseball. I love traveling, languages, and history and enjoy meeting new people. "Live heavy, travel light".

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that couchsurfing is a great opportunity to travel for less. It's a way to minimize what I consider to be unnecessary expenses on a trip. It's also a fantastic way to meet new people, to take a risk, and embark on an adventure.

Music, Movies, and Books

Because who doesn't love a good rock and roll song? I love everything classic rock and folk rock. Some of my absolute favourite artists are Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Frank Turner, The Gaslight Anthem, The Arkells, Lucero, The Tragically Hip, Neil Young, Blue Rodeo, Mumford and Sons, and The Barenaked Ladies. I also have a deep love and appreciation for Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Louis Armstrong, and Billie Holiday. While I do enjoy a good movie, I don't spend nearly as much time watching movies as I do listening to music or reading books. I guess being a book worm more or less goes hand in hand with being an English major. I love American and British literature and am working on appreciating more Canadian lit. I love reading musical biographies, and anything and everything baseball. My most recent reads are I Don't Care If We Never Get Back By Ben Blatt and Eric Brewster, Burning Bright by John Steinbeck and Eye of the Hurricane by Rubin Carter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One summer I lived abroad in Switzerland for three months as an Au Pair. As a weekend trip I went to Interlaken for a good adrenaline rush and wound up skydiving over the Swiss Alps. When I wasn't screaming, I was taking in probably the most breathtaking view in the world.
