About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To evolve, experience, and entertain.

ABOUT ME

I'm a YES girl. I connect with people easily, I forgive even easier, I don't lie well, and I can't hide my emotion most of the time. There isn't anything I wouldn't try at least once in life and I challenge you to find a food that I won't like. Fish head soup.... rocky mountain oysters? Not too shabby.... :)

I have an affinity for festiveness, ridiculous words, crazy shenanigans, over sharing and new adventures. I love unadulterated laughter, those that can make almost any phrase sexual or socially inappropriate, and being so deeply connected to those I love that all we need is eye contact from across the room to portray our feeling.

I spent my childhood building tree forts and bike jumps during the day, and playing card games with plenty of trash talk in the evening. I was taught to dream, to partake in everything/anything you can, and to value the small things in life.

I know that life is too short, I know that we're all connected, and I hope that I can be as much of a humanitarian as my mother.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in the comfort of stability but the freedom of spontaneity, the ease of old friends but the excitement of new connections, the enlightenment of travel but the feeling of being home, the humility of a new job but the experience of a career, and the steadiness of love but the growth that comes from loss.

I have yet to find the perfect balance between what I feel I'm supposed to do and what my essential self wants and needs to do.... but I'm working on it. ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd like to surf more! Meet new people, have new life experiences. I'd also like to be a host (and plan on doing so once I get my shit together!) :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed for the first time in New Orleans thanks to my wonderful friend (and fellow rambler) Melanie. Most said it was a "superior" surfing experience.... but I was truly blown away by how much I felt like I was amongst family and old friends. People are inherently good - and it's exciting to know trends are starting to form where folks can share, connect and help each other.

Interests

I have a crazy sock collection, I sing in a jazz ensemble, I go to live music shows as often as I can, and I would travel 6 months out of the year if I had more money. :) I cook dinner every Thursday night for a wonderful group of women called the Vagineers, I play in a two softball leagues, a tennis league, a cornhole league and a volleyball league. I love to golf, ski, hike, bike, drive fast, wear mustaches, host dinner parties, and play board games. I LOVE boating/sailing around our beautiful San Juan Islands. If you haven't cruised, anchored out, and enjoyed the fresh ocean breeze in the beautiful Pacific Northwest put it on your bucket list... you won't regret it. I co-own a marine service company and I probably work too hard, but I also get to use works like "caulk," "shaft," and "lube" on a regular basis. :) I like to quote movie lines when I talk, I like to motivate people to do something new, and I love animals.

Music, Movies, and Books

I prefer unique finds over popular trends and I'm ruled more by emotional connection to movies, music, and books then much else... but actually capturing in this small box what I like most would be like trying to choose my favorite sexual position - which is totally dependent on mood, situation, and timing. :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've done a lot of amazing things in my life - things that have changed me forever.... but amazing is all a matter of perspective.

I think the most awestruck moment I've ever had was the day my mother gave me a 5-page letter before she died stating why she loved me so much, why I was so special, and why I should never compromise my essential self. What an amazing woman she was.... and what a life changing experience her death was for me.
